    snobs

If i get cnuts like that behind me i usually do a brake test. And if they got something to say or jump out the car i let mr sledgehammer do the customer service for me. They soon say sorry or realise they were a cnut.

    Faded bumpers

I used shoe shine to get them back to black. You need to give it two coats but once dry, it's stays on for months. I did mine in February and they don't even like they are fading yet. And it only costs 97p from ASDA :D Just make sure you wipe off the excess off the bodywork before it dries...

    Consodering a Freelander? advice please?

I agree with you on this, there is nothing wrong with a bit of banter or taking the ****, and i'm sure BoB doesn't give two ****s about my reply on the first page (i hope he laughed about it, he gives enough to everyone else :)). But... the OP who wanted advice only just joined and he got a...

    Consodering a Freelander? advice please?

Why don't you buy a brain so you can type something more than a couple of words in posts or maybe come up with something original instead of the same **** all the time... dumb ass :p And shove your fender up your ass.

    car diagnostic code reader

You can get a Hawkeye diagnostic reader. It will set you back 300ish pound though. Or Faultmate for a few more hundred.

    Fix or sell?

Fifteen Hundred sounds too much for a gasket change, i got mine down to three hundred and eighty by phoning around getting the best price, i had no problems with the gasket since. Unless anyone disagrees, try not to take it to a landy garage as they charge the earth for even the simplest of jobs.

Glad its sorted. Pity you got to sell it, hope you get as much as possible for it on ebay.

My V6I ES Auto is dead!

You should get a lot of smoke from the exhaust, thats if the coolant hit it, you will initially get a large plume of smoke to begin then will die down when the exhaust is cooled to the same temp as the coolant (exhaust gets pretty hot). At least that's what happened to a previous vehicle i had...

My V6I ES Auto is dead!

Just read your description for the vehicle on ebay. The bit about lots of steam and water on the road.... have you checked the hoses for splits or loose connections?

How to make your gaylander look even gayer!

Is this the bloke's vehicle that wanted to pimp his ride with 235's? :D Maybe he could fit them after all.

Pimp my Freelander - Massive wheels.

When you hit a corner, change to the 215's. When your back on a straight road, go back to the 235's :D

    Newbie Freelander

One month is ok for the vehicle age. It's not like you bought it straight from the production lines. Just to make sure they did a good job though try and screw it over again :violent:

    help cant code read

May be a trip to the local garage i think tbh, unless there is an independent mechanic/fault diagnostic in your yellow pages (which should be cheaper), they may have the hardware/software needed to access the area. Apart from that i can't help much more sorry unless someone else jumps in the...

    help cant code read

You need the hawkeye diagnostic tool or faultmate at a high price. Or take it to a landy garage so they can run testbook for an also excellent high price. They are the only bits of equipment i know that can access the ABS, anything else will just read engine faults or sometimes airbag (as...

    Does anyone actually use HDC?

Driving around in the Freelander and realised that since i owned mine, i never used HDC once except when i first had it (i even forgot it about it :D). Got me excited for 2 minutes and never used it since. I suppose it's great if your planning to drive down a very steep hill but i never felt the...

    Bit confused

Not been in the Freelander world for long myself but: - There can be little or no warning of an imminent HGF. Make regular checks with the coolant and oil and you should be able to detect it pretty quick. - All petrol freelanders have K Series engines, even the V6 versions (KV6 I'm...
