    Breaking 1993 3 door

Hi Stewart, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, work etc.. I have decided to not break the hubs as I would rather sell chassis and running gear complete. I just don't have the space or facilities to leave stuff unsold or immovable and I will probably start a 100 inch project if left...

    Breaking 1993 3 door

I have hubs and halfshafts, couldn't tell you if 10 or 24 spline. Welcome to look see or tell me how to check?

    What engine mounts for conversion?

Thanks for info, will probably cut mounts out of Disco chassis. Hi Kds, perkins went as I didn't want the worry of breaking the gearbox or beefing up breaking and suspension due to the weight. It was a bit of a wrench as I had got the Perkins set up with hot start and plumbing. Hey Ho....

    What engine mounts for conversion?

Can anyone tell me what mounts to use/cut/weld etc.. I'm putting a 200TDi and 5 speed box into a 2 door Range Rover. The Range Rover had a Perkins and standard 4 speed which are now sold. Do I need to cut the engine mounts from the Disco or is there an adaptor for the Range Rover mounts?

Purchase of an original 1972 2-door range rover

Nice to see a 2 door restored rather than chopped! I am finishing a 75 2 door with a DTi motor and changing colour from baby sick sahara to tuscan blue, can't get too hung up on orignality or you'll never use it and cry the first time it gets any damage.:D

    Breaking 1993 3 door

Most parts left except engine/gearbox. Good chassis and straight body panels. Complete interior. Will sell as rolling body if anyone is interested. I would have MOT'd for another year but the idea was to use for Range Rover project and I need to get it finished. Lincolnshire.

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Going to have another crack at it today. I will check the line from tank and all connections. Will take sender out of tank and just check though I don't think there is a problem in the tank or it would run badly. When running the engine is fine and ticks over no probs, it just doesn't want to...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

It won't start! Wonder if there's a problem with non return valve? If it has one!

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Hi Kds, bled the system again and found that top of lift pump was letting air in so made small rubber washer to fit and re-bled. Started with engine start, it tried starting on preheat. Will try engine cold this morning and fingers crossed it will start OK. If not then back to plan A and...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Had old girl running last night after bleeding the system with manual in hand. Lift pump has had new valves and I replaced fuel filter as the old one was full of crap and water. Can't say I feel confident that she will start today as I feel there is air getting in somewhere! May have to check...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

You can borrow mine Kds, once i've worked out how to use it! Like most Landrover of this age it's been through the hands of countless owners, some good, some not so good. Can't rant at Wife about it as she just glazes over and changes the subject or the headache comes into play. It should be...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Hi Kds, no diff lock button. I could have later 4 spd box but can't try it until my front calipers appear, just in case it does hit 60 and I need to stop! Just bought engine workshop manual off ebay for a fiver, yippeeeeee!!! :)I can finaly get the fuel system bled properly. Got the old girl...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Cheers Cavey P38, I think I need to change waterpump as well if going along that route. Might be hens teeth? My low/high lever doesn't move sideways, so god knows what gearbox I have? Anyone got a suggestion? cheers, JimmymacD:mad:

Need advice on Perkins 4236 Airbox

Hi Mark 4x4, thanks for info. I'm in Lincolnshire, so not that far from Mansfield, you'll have to point out which skip! I like you're football reference and quite agree. cheers, James:)

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Kds, not sure of engine, out of disco and fitted with gearbox in mid 80's, more likely a 200tdi. The chap has had it almost from new with 40ish on the clock. It had a Belguim van conversion in 1981 (rear windows filled in) what ever that means? It is RHD and very complete but scabby! The chap...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Anyone got an instruction manual for the 4.236? Wondered if I should look at turbo head in the future? Been offered a TDI with 5spd in 1980 2 door from local source but the Wife really would kill me, give it another year and it may be sold for parts as it has sat for 10 years. Surely the issue...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

I am very fortunate to have a large barn which the previous owner worked as a car repairer from, unforunately he took the four post with him but left a spray booth. The only problem with having space is that it fills up quickly with projects and rubbish. Every six months I have a clearout. Want...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Yep, I think it is a 5spd long stick, unless someone has stuck a series 3 in as 5th could be a knuckle on dash reverse but I seem to remember down for reverse when I moved it into the barn. There is a mix of spares from later classic so I think that's where the gearbox has come from and the...

Anyone running a RR with Perk 4.236?

Hi, sorry I was having a rant about P38s, never owned one myself, I'm a classic/series man, just thought there might be more from classic owners on this site? Quite like the look of them just wouldn't want to worry about scratching it. The Classic still does what it says on the tin and my back...
