I hooked up a multimeter to the terminals on the ignition switch - no volts at terminal to pre-heat that I could find. I jumped from battery to the terminal identified in the linked photo and she fired up with substantially less cranking than without. Pre-heat terminal on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I know I could probably look in several wiring diagrams and manuals, but I'd much rather ask you folks. Does anybody know what the piece identified was originally supposed to do? There is nothing attached to it atm.
