P38 steering pulls to the left

Thanks fellas, Superingtango - I've had the tracking done twice now, once by my local LR specialist (who told me the usual figures are incorrect, so I suspect he was using the RAVE figures) and once by a motorsport place (the 4 wheel laser job) so I'm guessing it ain't that, unfortunately, and...

    LPG - ECU Remapping? Really?

I had a Prins multi point done on my 4.6 26,000 miles ago and it runs as sweet as a nut, in fact smoother on lpg. Just as GavBriggs says above, the lpg system intercepts the injector "firing" pulses and using a re-writable fuelling map pulses the gas injectors in place of them. The whole...

P38 steering pulls to the left

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated. Michael, thanks for the suggestion on the radius arm bushes, I couldn't tell good from bad myself, but it's on my list of things to check now. 999mph - same boat eh? Where do we look next... aaargh! Cheers Fanatic, I had some crappy...

P38 steering pulls to the left

Hi everyone, my 2000 P38 pulls to the left, not violently, but more than the road camber can be blamed for. If I let go of the steering wheel it will gently pull left, and I can feel the pull on the steering all the time I'm driving. The tyres are a new matched pair with the pressures spot...

    P38 on gas, Brisk plugs

I was told that the firing voltage is higher when running on gas than on petrol (by the LPG bloke) and sure enough, the new leads had it running luvvly with nothing else touched, so maybe someone who knows about firing voltages could fill us in on that?

    Alternator fault that wasn't....

Good point, that's why I tested it running, with everything switched on, still the voltages were good in each case, and of course it had done 850 miles mostly with the lights on and been started up countless times, no flat battery, so I figured the <alternator fault> was probably not being...

    Alternator fault that wasn't....

Thanks Jamie, I had no idea what it was. and thanks David, yeah I did consider that, but checked the voltages off, ignition on and running and they were fine. I confirmed that with the main dealer when I was over there, but they also checked them and they were ok. I wasn't aware until now...

    P38 on gas, Brisk plugs

When I had my 4.6 LPG'd it didn't run well until I had Magny Cours put on it, after that it ran smooth as silk.

    Gas conversion

I had my y2k 4.6 converted to lpg at Medway Dual Fuel. They were very good, and the fitting job was excellent. I had a Prinz fitted which very much wasn't the cheapest on the market, but the car runs substantially better on gas than it does on petrol, smoother and clearly making better power...

    Alternator fault that wasn't....

Hi everyone, I'm a new member, but I've been looking round here for a while, trying to pick up some practical knowledge, and I have to say, I'm already grateful for the info you blokes have passed on so far. I thought I'd bore you all with the story of a fault that occurred on my P38 in case...
