i think my centre diff lock my be stuck when turning at low speeds it feels tight & slows down & on sometimes makes a wheel spin noise the diff light is off & does go on & off when diff lock is selected if it stuck how can i get it unstuck which is the best way to test cheers

i had the same problem on my disco thought it was cv joint so i changed the whole n/s hub but still did it so i got a complete front axle of ebay for £100 swap it & it stop so i think it was my diff

have checked they seem ok its not just a noise it nocks & slows down when turning on full lock slight clicking noise when going in a straight line

ok have changed the cv joint & its still making the same noise could it be the diff

ok sorry but it did sound like it coming from the back it wasent till i got my mate to look as i turned then work out is was coming from the front left n/s

have look at it today it is coming from the front left

ok it happend today when off roading at kirton the rear diff coupling " rubber doughtnut" broke so replaced it & it seemed ok diff lock was used today only seems to do it when turning even more when i press the clutch in its high box & the diff light is not on

hello my discovery 300tdi 1996 has loud clonking banging noise coming from the rear when turning & slight judder can any one help cheers

hello have checked the sedimentor but it has been bypassed by someone ?? so i then checked the sender unit the elbows are rusty & the plastic bit they go into has a crack init about 1/2 inch in the feed pipie

ok have check the sender unit top metal bits are rusty & the plastic bend bit is cracked :mad:

ok i think my dicovery 300tdi overboosting revs fine in nuatral sound in first gear 2nd & 3rd gear under load it cuts of like its jumped out of gear but doesnt stall & there is no black smoke just a sudden loss off power has ??? please help

will try tommorow but am begining to think it might an over boost problem as it revs fine in nutraul & 1st but in 2nd & 3rd it seems to do it under load . its a sudden loss power like its jumped out of gear but it hassent

if you work out wot it is let us know my 300tdi is doing the same thing fine in first gear 2nd & 3rd are the worst if i tickle the pedal its fine put me foot down & it just cuts the power off but never stalls let me foot off the pedal press slowley & it goes but it dont seem to do it at in low box
