My knob keeps coming off in my hand...

Thank you! Question was really "why would I ever want to remove it?" but now I've realised how cheap a new one is, it's far easier than messing about with glue. Definitely not going for an alloy one, but a new black one is on the way. Found the part numbers in case anyone else has the same...

My knob keeps coming off in my hand...

The rounded knob on my gear stick keeps coming off in my hand! How would it normally be fixed onto the shaft? Would it cause a problem to just glue it on? Thanks! (Defender 110 TD5 '52 plate' if it makes any difference)

    Caliper assembly - pistons included?

Thank you - have ordered the standard assemblies this time. Will keep the old ones and will aim to re-fit them with stainless pistons before re-using next time the calipers need changing...

    Remove spare wheel holder

Resurrecting an old thread because I have a very similar question... I'd like to remove my spare wheel holder most of the time, but be able to add it back on occasionally without removing all the trim. Most of the time, my spare wheel lives in the back of the defender - it's more secure and...

    long bits of wood

Funny, just re-read this exchange from just over 8 years ago... I've had a 110 sat on the drive for nearly 8 years and it's regularly had things strapped to the roof. My kids love it when we do the "fire engine thing" with a couple of ladders. "The missus" has so far resisted all suggestions...

    Caliper assembly - pistons included?

Hoping to tap into your experience..... I'm about to replace the front calipers on my 110 (vented discs) If I buy SEB500460 and SEB500470 (probably the Bearmach ones from LRdirect), do they come with pistons or do I need to buy the pistons separately? I can't tell from the photos and would...

    long bits of wood

I don't need to take the missus to fetch wood but if I'm just nipping to B&Q she'll doubtless want to look at paint colours or cushions at the same time! If there isn't going to be space for her she'll doubtless tell me I don't need a defender! As long as a bit of timber will fit then it'll be...

    long bits of wood

OK, now the wife is getting demanding...;)! She's not particularly tall (5'7")... is there likely to still be enough space for her to sit on the passenger seat? Thanks!

    long bits of wood

Anyone know if you can get an 8ft length of 2"x2" timber (or similar) in a hard-top 90? (one with the internal divider just reaching up to seat level, not all the way to the ceiling). I know it won't fit straight forwards-backwards or side-to-side, but I think it might fit on the diagonal...

    how to identify engine

Thank you... I had assumed (stupidly) that they would be far more similar in appearance and I would need to look for subtle differences!

    how to identify engine

OK... maybe this question reveals my staus as a landrover virgin :5bblush5:, but how can I identify which engine is in a defender? (You'll be able to guess that I'm at the very early stages of buying one) I've read loads of posts on this forum arguing about which is best, but when I walk up...
