    What to look for

Thats gonna be impossible as the Defender 90 wasn't made in 1973 :P You'll be after a series mate! Have a look at Auto Trader occasionally something decent comes up there but mainly ebay. I got mine taxed and tested for £500 off there! Don't be in a hurry to buy, wait until a good one comes...

Clutch replacement time. Also brake issue.

Yeah not a bad plan. Either way I've got enough for the specialist to do both and they've got low labour per hour (around £40) so its not as bad as it could be! So fixing everything should be a decent amount less than getting a new clutch!

Clutch replacement time. Also brake issue.

Bonus! (I think!) I took the landy to the specialist in Biggin Hill to have it checked out and see what they said and I was told that it definitely isn't the clutch. The guy I saw jumped straight in and immediately took it for a drive and came back saying he didn't think there was enough...

Clutch replacement time. Also brake issue.

With the brakes they were working the day before the landy went to the garage and came out really bad, so I don't think it could be rust from lack of use. Any other ideas? I will give them a clean out too.

Clutch replacement time. Also brake issue.

Hi all, I took my car to the local garage (I know the owners, have done me good deals in the past) to have a check over on the clutch and fit my parabolics, after my last thread. Now they've fiddled with it and bled the system the clutch is even worse So I'm going to bite the bullet and just...

    Clutch/gearbox problem?

No leaks coming from the master or slave. Only had these replaced a month ago. Not sure if this will help at all, but the clutch feels completely normal, nothing like there isn't enough pressure in the system and the pedal sags - its still got a very nice biting point and there is not clutch...

    Clutch/gearbox problem?

Hi all, Just got back from a 30 mile trip in my S3 2.25p and pulling into my drive whilst slowing down I put the clutch down to drop a gear, however with my foot fully planted on the floor the landy started moving forwards as if the clutch was up (but didn't stall when I stopped under braking)...

Axle stuck whilst re fitting leaf springs :(

I think it must have been to be honest. The axle was definitely not in the right place and wasn't moving forwards. Cheers for the input all :)

Axle stuck whilst re fitting leaf springs :(

Whey! All sorted guys! I ended up using a scissor jack mounted on a block of wood at the rear of the leaf spring to edge the axle forwards gently with a hydraulic jack lifting the axle until it reached the correct position! Huzzar. Unfortunately I struggled to put the U-bolts back on as I was...

Axle stuck whilst re fitting leaf springs :(

I can't get the prop shaft bolts undone. The nuts are about to round off if I try anymore. Anyone got any suggestions on how to get the rusty nuts off?

Axle stuck whilst re fitting leaf springs :(

Hi all, I've been taking off my leaf springs today just to give them a once over. Having done that, re fitting the right hand side leaves (to my 1982 series 3 swb) has left the axle around an inch and a half further back than it rests on the passenger side, and wont move forwards at all. It is...
