Hi all,

Just got back from a 30 mile trip in my S3 2.25p and pulling into my drive whilst slowing down I put the clutch down to drop a gear, however with my foot fully planted on the floor the landy started moving forwards as if the clutch was up (but didn't stall when I stopped under braking). At this point I put the brakes on and tried to shift out of second gear and it wouldn't budge. I eventually coaxed it out of gear, but its doing this more and more? Any ideas whats up?

Thanks in advance,

Chrissy

Check your clutch fluid levels. Probably the seals gone, most likely in the salve cylinder.
Sometimes just topping it up will render a temporary repair, if you are really lucky!

This sounds like what has just happened to me and i found it was the clutch master cylinder, I replaced it yesterday and it's fine now. Mind you the missus wasn't happy sat in the cab for an hour while i was underneath trying to bleed it lol.

No leaks coming from the master or slave. Only had these replaced a month ago. Not sure if this will help at all, but the clutch feels completely normal, nothing like there isn't enough pressure in the system and the pedal sags - its still got a very nice biting point and there is not clutch "squeal", "slip" or "judder" as described in the clutch fault finding section of Haines. The only thing it sounds like is under "clutch spin" point 3. Does this help anyone help me? :p
