Ok, I've been looking at a series IIa. Red knob and yellow knob. What are these for? High range/low range and lock diffs?

Might help some people who have minor coolant loss. Was just going over everything under the bonnet and noticed a little bit of coolant leaking from where the hose goes under the battery cover. Seems the battery cover digs into the plastic hose and makes a hole. The silver stuff is duct tape...

Just curious. Anybody tried General Grabber AT2's on their Rangie? Looking at the Scorpion ST's, they dont look like they'd be as good as the AT2's off-road. Comments anybody?

When readying a car for painting (i.e. a 1987 D reg 110 pickup), which isnt in too bad a condition, already rust treated, etc. How far back to the metal to I need to take the paint before priming it, etc?

Bit of an odd one. Started the p38 up yesterday and it said gearbox fault. It works through all the gears and theres plenty of fluid in. So i turned him off, then on again and fault had gone??:confused::confused: Then my mrs started playing with the seats (while ignition was at position 2...

Uh...as says in title :) 1998 P38 4.6 HSE Maybe vacuum gone/going? Buttons work fine when it's going. Is it run off the pump for EAS? If so, pump might be going as the suspension is dodgy at times as well.

Right, on the 19th, I shall be driving to Kidderminster. Then on the 20th, I shall be driving to Wales somewhere, North East i think. Will check with the missus to find out where exactly Will be coming back to Oxford on 20th if anybody needs anything taking up or brought down.

Looks like we don't have to threaten them with a can of petrol and a match. Whilst coming home from Milton Keynes on the A43, one had blocked both lanes southbound cos it had spontaneously caught fire. Were also a couple of police defenders, not usually seen nowadays. Looked quite nice.

No help needed now, hopefully found whats i was looking for :D

Does anybody know the part number for a towing kit for p38 Rangies? I've tried looking, but i don't know what one will be the right one! Everybody uses their own part numbers :mad::mad:

... and he said that there is no after-sales protection (diff. guards, steering guard, etc.) available for P38's. Lots of stuff for Classics, but squat for P38's. All I need to do to take it off-road is take off the front bumper, apparently....:confused:

Whast the major difference, if any? I'm assuming the Bosch will be more reliable than the Lucas/Sagem system, and are they interchangeable?

RH REAR BULB FAILURE. Damn. Thats one bulb out the spares. And a little book with a "!" appeared on the blower unit. Air con problem?
