    Heavily Breathing 109

Nope, not having any luck at all!! There is a temperature guage that is always showing normal! Spoken to the guy that did the work last time and he has said to bring it in and they will look at it again. They replaced the crankshaft pulley last time and that should have fixed the problem...

Landy is knocking again! Only had it back about 3-4 weeks! This time wsa in slow moving traffic as I was the last time, crawling forwards and then the kncoking starts again! Should there be any reason that this should happen when I am in traffic, with the stop start that goes with it???

Ta! Is this simple to do or do I let someone reach into me wallet to take me money for the pleasure of completing the work??

2.25 Diesel knock and wont turn off

Apologies for reviving an old thread but I have the same problem, but only the knocking problem. I have only recently had the Landy back from being repaired and there have since been no problems, until now! It went in with a bad knocking problem and the crankshaft was found to be the problem...

    Insurance

I've got my 109 with Lancaster. There was a cheaper company whose name I have forgotten. Didnt go with them as they dont do monthly payments only a lump sum and Lancaster do.

Hi, my landy is Limestone colour, behind the moss and crap that has grown on it over the years. Mine needs a repaint which I am planning on doing, when time permits!

    Heavily Breathing 109

The problem was a cranshaft problem. There was a faulty cap (?) that was causing the heavy breathing. Has now been fixed. Just need to go pick it up!

Got the Series 3 running, but can only get 40mph!

I have got 55-60 out of my IIA on the motorway. Wouldnt want to go any faster as would expect the engine to pack in! Like to pick a wagon and sit behind it so usually get 55-60 out of it along the flat. Can usually maintain the speed when going uphill too. Its a 2 1/4 diesel.

    Parking tickets!

I think they do. I have seen them taking lots of photos of cars with tickets. I contested mine once and said they had a photo of the car and described it from the photo. Dont know if they actually had a photo or were just reeling off details from DVLA database but didnt want to push it!!

    Heavily Breathing 109

I had considered it but finances wont permit! The 200tdi is something that I would like to get put in to the 109 in the future. Thanks for the offer Dr Pepper. I am going to wait for the verdict tomorrow and see what is causing the problems and take it from there.

    Heavily Breathing 109

Thanks Dr Pepper. I am taking it to Leeds with the friend I got the 109 from. His friend is a mechanic and will have a look at it to diagnose the problem. When it comes to getting the work done hopefully mates rates will apply!!

    Heavily Breathing 109

Just been out in the 109. Had problems with a lack of power right through to 3rd gear. Sounded as if the engine was misfiring too. Definately not a happy 109. Does this still sound as if it is a piston/piston ring problem still??

    Heavily Breathing 109

Looked at the coolant and there is no oil in there. From what I have read I will now need to look at the piston rings and go from there!

    Heavily Breathing 109

Thanks LEE and Redhand. Will have a look at the coolant tomorrow and see if there is any oil in it. That link to the 2.5 N/A symptoms looks really helpful. Looking at what has been written it shouldnt take too long. Had a look for replacement Pistons with rings and they dont seem too...
