    Disco 2 Cold start again

This can be a symptom of a number of different faults. Glow plugs are controlled and left on by the ECU, even once the engine is running. The glow lamp on the dash will give you an idea of time so that if you wait for it to go out, you'll let the plugs get hot. It bears no relation to whether...

    propshaft viscous coupling

Am I right in thinking the two shafts either side of the unit are constantly at different speeds by design- so the unit is actively trying to iron out the mismatch of revs. Quite what you can upgrade or change this to- I've not heard of anything? Is it a mechanical diff. Unit of sorts?

oil level rising, smell of diesel

I just did mine this morning. It was notably clearing air on anything other than short trip startups, so was clearly an issue and getting worse. The washers show signs of degradation, and I can see the small track marks in the copper. My oil is OK, but its due a change in 400mls. Anyway. Land...

    TD5 auto gearbox fault?????

Check the Turbo Modulator first.... +1 [emoji651] on over boost symptoms.... Its the small square unit hidden behind the MAF. Check all the small pipes **carefully** for splits etc. Check the turbo mod actuator rod is free to move ( they are stiff by nature, and require some force) lightly oil...

    TD5 M & S lights flashing D as well

Get your battery checked. The gearbox ecu is particularly susceptible to voltage drop on startup, and will go to limp mode if it drops below about 10.x volts ( I think). Also can be a couple of other faults, but battery first port of call. Take a search around to as there's plenty written on it.

    Halfords oil.....yay or nay.....?

Halfords have regular offers on 4ltr cans of oil at various grades to suit. Personally I buy the 5/30 Fully Synth. B5 Its £10-00, but works out at £8-00 with a trade card. (£2-00/ltr). I think that's a pretty good deal. If a 10/40 is your chosen oil, then they have that too. Lots of...

    Harsh ride from my suspension

Are your tyres all matched, and have good tread left? They seem to be very prone to give vague ride/ handling with uneven wear or mismatched tyres. It made a massive difference on both 300 and TD5. Gas dampers all round and a set of std springs will help with a higher mileage car too- this is...
