    P38A LPG conversion ( 4.6 HSE Model)

Yes exactly! Pity there isnt mitigation for all the other things that go wrong lol!

    P38A LPG conversion ( 4.6 HSE Model)

Also handy if the fuel pump packs up. Can still run around on LPG until you get the pump fixed.

    P38A LPG conversion ( 4.6 HSE Model)

I had the RPi single point and Tornado chip LPG conversion on my GEMS 4.6 HSE. I can confirm it works fine with no issues such as backfire or noticeable performance change. I have the dial tank 135 L set up, allowing approx 110 L LPG fill and giving 300 miles per fill. Approx 210 000 miles on...

    P38A broken EAS compressor piston

I was debating whether to repair it. I have a feeling that the windings have broken down as it doesn't run with the piston removed. However it is work in progress. Thanks the eBay link. I'm tempted, but the price of the conrod, relative to a refurbished pump doesn't really make it cost...

Hi Kurt, Is this still available? Mine has broken its piston...never had that before!

    P38A broken EAS compressor piston

Anyone had an EAS compressor piston break? It's a first for me. Stopped at Membury services and, on planning to leave, starter didn't operate. Suspected starter motor, RAC man confirmed starter motor, recovered home (nice petrol saving :-)). Spent 8 hours swapping out a perfectly serviceable...

P38A More EAS diagnostic help needed

I discovered my diaphragm seal was worn by unscrewing the exhaust silencer ( white cylinder sticks out of valve block enclosure on same side as the air pipes). With the pump operating, you should not sense air flow through the port. If air is passing, suspect leaking diaphragm.

    P38A Heated Windscreen

Took mine apart the other day hoping it was just a relay or bad connection that was stopping the driver's side operating. Unfortunately, the element is high resistance :-(

P38A How many miles on the clock so far?

Yes! Original engine changed after 100k miles due to 'slipped liner' . New RPi engine fitted at same time as LPG by RPi. That lasted 60k miles at which point it put a conrod through the block. Current engine from MCT at Weston super Mare now on 130k miles and seems fine (touches wood).

P38A How many miles on the clock so far?

Just passed 290k miles on '95 4.6 running LPG. Had it 15 years from 78k miles.

To LPG or to not LPG

I'm not sure whether they still do it but RPi in Norfolk did a conversion retaining the 100 L petrol tank and fitting 2 LPG tanks with a total volume of 135 L providing around 110L usable LPG capacity and a total range (with petrol) of over 600 miles. You lose the spare wheel well with that...

To LPG or to not LPG

If you're keeping it long term and doing the miles, I think it can be worth it. Had my 4.6 converted (single point, 135 L tank) at 100k and 8 years old. It's now on 285k and 22 years old. I calculate that I've saved around £35k in fuel costs in that time and it feels good to know that the...

    P38A EAS Kicker Light, Problem???

check EAS relay under left hand seat hasn't been swapped out for standard relay. EAS relay is slightly taller and black. Sometimes these get swapped for standard ones if there are EAS issues and EAS diagnostics won't initiate if swapped.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

changed rear wiper blade. Halfords' catalogue actually lists 18" for P38s, not the correct 19". Plus my wiper arm hinge is rusted solid (wiper still works though...)

    P38A EAS height sensors

Regarding the early / late differences, once one has installed the kit with new bracket and harness for the old vehicles, does that mean that any subsequent replacements can be with the newer type of height sensor? They look pretty similar...
