    Billing 2017

Did the Billing show last weekend, the off road route was the same as usual. The mud run caused a great deal of difficulty on the Saturday and much recovery was required. Then on Sunday after listening to the marshals as to the best route, less recovery required. The obvious problem was always...

    Billing is no more

Now that Billing is not going to be used next year and the show is moving to Kelmarsh does anybody have an idea of how that will affect those who will be attending. Billing was so easy with the Premier inn on the door step. Or will it be better?

    Adblue

Thinking about spending some money on a new Land Rover. Probably a D4. Now that we are into EU6 emission levels does every new Land Rover now have to have an Adblue tank or similar to reach the EU6 emission requirement.

    EU5 andEU6

Now that all new vehicles sold after September have to be EU6 compliant and it effects diesels more than petrol engines how are Land Rover going to make their engines acceptable. All VW and Skoda engines are having an item called AdBlue sprayed into the exhaust system via an extra tank. Peugot...

    Discovery 4

Having read most things regarding Discovery 4 one thing I am not sure is how many differentials are computer controlled regarding locking. I always thought it was just the centre and rear.

    Discovery 4

Having spent a couple of days in a newish Discovery 4 off road i wonder who was responsible for fitting it with a paddle gear change. Totally horrible for driving off road as you lose orientation as where the paddles are and which is down or up change. Fine for tarmac but off road, no thank...

    Eastnor 2015

I notice that the Land Rover show in June 2015 is going to be held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern instead of Eastnor. In addition there is no facility for off-road driving, at Eastnor as it is unavailable. What fun John

    Range Rover Sport

In a recent vehicle test in a major car magazine which was testing wet weather braking in 6 vehicles one of which was the Range Rover Sport. The task was to stop on a wet road as quickly as they could. They then say " Here, 4 wheel drive is no use whatsoever as none of the wheels is driving"...

    Armageddon

Just in case anybody is unaware, the Association of Car Enthusiasts report that a proposal that could become law would make any almost any modified car illegal to drive on the road. Yes, I thought it was April the 1st as well Unfortunately, not so. The full article can be found in 4x4 magazine...

    Driffield Spring Adventure 2012

Is it true that there is not going to be an off-road course at Driffield this year? With Stoneleigh cancelled and now this, it is all getting a bit thin John

    Eastnor 25/26 August 2012

Those of you who might be going to Eastnor in August this year might be interested to read the reply I received from LRE as to how the off-roading will work. John Thank you for your email. May I first of all explain the difference between this years Land Rover show to the ones in previous...

    Pheasant steps

Just driven the Pheasant Steps amongst other routes today in N Wales. The big hole is still a big hole but can be circumnavigated. On the right if going down stick the nearside wheels in the big rut and hope you stay there. Mind you we were in two Landcruisers which does make such a...

    Billing/Stoneleigh

Done Billing/Stoneleigh but Peterborough is a bit of a flog from N Wales. Is the off-road site worth traveling a long way for. Of the three shows does anybody have an opinion which is considered the best, from the off road point of view. TLC
