Was this a special model Land Rover did? I've not seen another and I can't imagine it was a after market body kit.

Got the reply back, built Nov 74 :) So now I'll order the Heritage certificate, and should be tax free Fromm April.

They have a bit on there now that says, "Please be advised that if you require proof of your vehicle’s age, the DVLA will now only accept a Heritage Certificate as minimum evidence."

Thanks that was quick. I've paid the £6 to see what that comes back with, then I guess I need the heritage certificate £40 jobby for the DVLA.

I need to get proof of the build date for my series first registered 15/1/75 If I can prove it was built in 1974 I'll be tax exempt from April. The DVLA say write to Land Rover but I doub they will still have the records.

Had their records shown mine was built in 1974 I would have been able to get it changed at the post office (after 1/4/2015) but it was reg on 15/1/75 and built 31/12/75!

Brake fluid would only get that low if something is wrong elsewhere, leak, low pads etc.

How can I find the build date of my Landy, it was first registered 15th Jan 1975, at present cars built pre 74 are free, so am I correct in thinking that sometime in the next year this will move to pre 1975? If so mine must surley have been made in 1974, but how do I prove this to the DVLA?

I've now overhauled the brakes, sorted the exhaust & got the clutch working and it went out at the weekend for it first trip under its own power for 25 years.
