    Difficult to see but loads of bubbles from return what I find odd is it fires up first touch of key. So the injections are recons from a well know diesel shop in Sheffield would it be possible for air to leak back though those ?

    So another twist took the return pipe off from the pump stuck a bit of rubber hose on and dropped it in to a pot of diesel on start up it bubbled a lot of air the second the bubbles cleared the smoke stopped. Not sure what that shows

    So turned engine timing pins dropped start in problem so guessing there’s no issues with timing? Before I pull pump going do a compression test. Next thing is push it down a big hill

    I discounted timing as it clears I would have thought it would do it all time but not sure ? My next thing was to pull pump off and have that tested so I’ll go though the timing. I’ll pull rad out Monday morning and have a look thank you for the reply

    Hi all I’ve got 300tdi defender which is one big money pit. So I’ve got a running fault on first start up runs lumpy and limp for the first 10 minutes and smokes white smoke. After ten minutes clears and goes like a train. Like it’s leaking back. So the dam thing has had a new turbo new head...
