It is possible for it to be leaking into the bell housing and quite likely if you can't find a leak anywhere else but it would have to leak a hell of a lot to reach the friction plate. I'd get it changed pretty soon though, a new slave is only a tenner.

it happens quite a lot with newer range rovers but they have the luxury of getting their butlers to shift the car for them.

don't know if you can buy them from the factory like that but there's quite a few round here with hatches used for shooting. Not an issue really so long as it's a tidy job and doesn't leak.

I made a similar mistake a while back, which is how I know there are 2 different filters for a 200tdi. At least you didn't do what I did and waste an hour or so trying to remove the lid. :cool:

I never did like all the plate, it wouldn't be too bad if it was matt black. With the disco interior and the bulkhead moved there is loads of room in the cab unlike most 90s and 110s.

Not mine but it belongs to a friend of mine who is an engineer, so all the work has been done to an excellent standard. He has been building his ultimate long range 110 for a couple of years now, unfortunately family illness is forcing him to sell, which is a real shame with the amount of time...
