A little update - started up the hippo as its been a few days since last and a new noise - exactly like that I've removed the belt, just by pulling at the belt under the car and it lifted off over the crank pulley - which shouldn't happen. A new belt is on order. Old belt - sorry video...

Mine has just started making a noise from the crank pulley area, crank pulley will be replaced in the new year. Not using the car at the moment.

Little bit of an update. The alternator belt has been jumping (sits in different grooves on the water pump pulley) and as a result instead of a 5 ribbed belt its now a 4 ribbed belt. Found the remnant's on the black pipe. This happened I think (after talking to OH) that it was just prior to...

Things didn't go as planned, couldn't remove the aux belt, need a different 24mm and make adjustments to it. Spent a bit of time trying to get the spanner on the nut. I'll have to come back to that. I loosened the a/c tensioner and checked that, I couldn't find any play or noise etc. The a/c...

Hi, Thank you for the reply. I've removed the side panel, its definitely from the lower bottom. Next step is to remove the belt tensioner for the aircon belt to at least eliminate that. That can wait until tomorrow, its dark and raining.

I have this exact noise (has been driving me mad to locate). its only in the last couple of weeks started, it had disappeared randomly for a while ie few days. Obviously its going to fail at some point. All other videos of the crank pulley death clack, don't sound like this. But that's the...
