    Temperature gauge

she now tells me it’s actually less than ah right, do you know where I could get one from, and are they easy to plumb in?

    Temperature gauge

Right, onto the next possible issue. The temperature gauge sits around 1/4 when running, but won’t go much higher. Is it supposed to be that low? I did find another post on this but the answers varied and the thread became somewhat of a royal rumble.

    Freelander prop issues

The new pitch mount arrived today, after some fettling with the position of the engine it’s finally on! I’ve just taken my son for a quick drive around the block and all seems well Thanks for all the help guys, you’re all legends

Boom! It’s off. I’ve had to try and straighten my 15mm spanner though

    Freelander prop issues

I haven’t encountered bolts this tight since me and my mate rebuilt my engine some years back. He had a breaker bar with a metal pipe on it, with his full 15st body weight on it. When it finally went, he smashed his knee on the ground. I don’t have a picture of that stage, this one is just...

    Freelander prop issues

I’ll try a half inch ratchet with a 15mm socket, I’ll push it with my foot. If that doesn’t work, I’m getting a breaker bar today, hopefully that’ll get it off

I’ve put about that much in I think. Just trying to remove the one remaining bolt for the pitch mount. Are they reverse thread?!?! This thing is tight as hell and the Milwaukee impact gun won’t even touch it!

I packed a bit in, and covered the bearings. I’ll maybe take the gaiter off and pack a little bit more in. Thanks.

Do you how much grease do it put in tripod hub bearing? I put a little bit in and coated the bearings last time. I know too much can be just as bad as too little, but I can’t find a definitive answer anywhere

    Freelander prop issues

My new prop cv kit arrived today, however it’s appears to be missing one piece, I’ve circled it and contacted the place I bought it from. I’m assuming it’s to stop the tripod hub from eating the rubber gaiter

Thanks, I have looked at the one wheel up test. I’m going to do it when I get a few minutes. It’s on axl stands at the moment so I’ll have to drop it down.

Is it true the viscous coupling has a lifespan of only 70,000 miles? Ours is on 89,000

    Freelander prop issues

It doesn’t have identical tyres, it’s something we have been going to sort. We’ve only had it three weeks. It drove really nicely the first week we had it. Did a mix of motorway, rural and urban. A couple of days before it went the first time, it started to clunk when in low gears and reverse...

    Freelander prop issues

So my issue could be that excessive engine movement is the culprit? Both times it happened it’s while steering to the right. Where abouts can I find the lower engine mount? I’ve had a good look underneath and can’t find it. Do I perhaps need to remove the undertray?
