    110 county V8

A bit of a thread revival but there is now a newly-manufactured overdrive for the LT95 4-speed box. A collaboration between Roamerdrive and Garage Therapy in Australia. Here is the link: https://garagetherapy.com.au/gt-lt95-overdrive-box/

    early vs later V8 110

Why? Because I was hoping there was a relatively straightforward, assured route to finding the 21 missing ponies compared to the same era RRC. As the detuning seemed to be done for marketing reasons I didn't think it would be too involved. It is a clean unmolested vehicle in good order, and the...

    early vs later V8 110

Bit of a thread revival (18 months), but I'm also interested in an answer to the OP's question. I have a slidy-window One Ten V8 with twin Stromberg CD175 carbs and the LT95 4-speed. It runs well at 70k miles and I've had the engine checked. Apparently there is nothing wrong with it. As with...

Rear right body panel replacement (and buying queries)

Welcome. Definitely would not bother with replacing the side panel for a minor bump like that. I also would not "tidy it up" with chequer plate as it looks horrible in my opinion, like someone is trying to hide something. Land Rover Series/90/110 look fine with a bit of character. Chassis...

    Rear multileaf springs

I've got the standard multileaf GME springs on a 1974 88". Made in Sheffield. I like them, very nice supple ride, everything seemed good quality. They came with spring bushes already mounted. A world away from seized and rusted old springs. I use them with Girling Authentic Classic dampers...

    Series 3 109 fuel tanks

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone researching how to do this job, I offer the following observations. I had a similar issue with a 109 rear fuel tank. Lining it up with the front mounting holes, the rear mounting holes were a full 12mm to the rear of the crossmember holes. My...

Series 3 Mythical '369' series 5MB diesel engine - can anyone shed any light?

See the OP from this thread comments on page 2 here - https://www.lrukforums.com/threads/odd-lr-88-engine-number.232928/page-2 And the original query from 2018 states: "I found an interesting LR88 i would buy, the chassis number 907 accords with the year 1974, but the engine prefix is a...

How much should I be paying for this!!

I wouldn't take this on unless you've got a big garage, lots of tools, time, knowledge and money. There are plenty of examples out there in far better nick which make a better starting point for a project. I've bought very clean looking Land Rovers with current MOTs that still needed a four...

    Fuel Tank Options

Design and Development Engineering makes an extended range underseat tank but it's intended for a Series not a 90/110. I think fitting another one on the other side with a corss-feed would be a good idea. Regarding fuel economy, you should be getting more than 200 miles on a 55 litre tank...

    Series 88 fuel tank bolts

Have a look at the parts diagram at LRWorkshop.com - they are the LR parts book images digitised. The one of the side tanks is accurate, but, just like the official parts book, the rear 109 tank washer/bolt/nut configuration isn't entirely clear.

    Series 2 or Series 3

Ref the spare on the rear door, the frame can be fixed/strengthened, and I'd do the third hinge mod as found on 110s etc. I need to rebuild my 110's rear door as the bottom rail has holes in it. While I'm at it I'll get the frame strengthened and will remove and refit the glass with new Butyl tape.

Fitting inertia seat belts to series 2a

My 1974 88" came with seat belts retrofitted using all Land Rover parts, bolts, nuts and brackets. The inertia reel is mounted to the top of the tub using the L-shaped bracket directly below where the belt passes though the buckle on the factory angle bracket. The stalks bolt into L-shped...

Series 2 Recommendations for decent paint for new fuel tank

Scuff up with 400 grit, etch prime with Bilt Hamber Etchweld, overcoat with decent satin black enamel and after a week or two spray Dynax UC clear chassis wax over the whole tank, especially the bits you can't get to when installed. Do the same to the chassis rails you can access with the tank...

    Need New Tyres

+1 for Avon Rangemaster. They are not expensive, my current set cost around £100 per tyre, not that much more than the cheap rubbish, although prices online vary widely. They handle well, are well-suited to the vehicle, look the part and are radial not crossply. They were Land Rover factory fit...

    Need New Tyres

My 88" has these, look identical to Series wheels except for the tubeless bead hump which is barely noticeable. Gives access to a wide range of tyres, but more useful on an 88" for 205s etc. For a 109 the preferable 235/85R16 is supposed to be fitted to minimum width 6" wheels but the Defender...

    Rear multileaf springs

I've got GME multi leaf springs on my 88". They are made in Coventry, and give a nice ride. I definitely recommend them. Called their helpline and talked to someone who was very helpful. GME is an OEM supplier to JLR and Morgan Cars. gdiproducts seller on eBay sells GME springs.

    Series 3 Fuel tank

Thanks for the feedback. Was it the tank itself or a replacement outrigger? I've still got my DDS Metals tank yet to fitted but like you I thought it looks and feels good quality. The DDS tank was recommended to me by a Land Rover restorer who has fitted over a dozen of them.
