Peter , engine stalled a couple of times on LPG so I switched to petrol and it ran as normal,I assumed it was LPG prob. Switched back to LPG after 4 miles and it ran OK. 12 miles later noticed temp. gauge on cold (didn't spot it go to hot) and pulled off motorway after another 6/7 miles.loads...

Just had a quote from an LPG garage £900 - not quite as bad as I thought but they reckon it may go again as sometimes the cylinder liners have cracked in these situations and are undetectable by sight and you only find out when they have run a few miles after repair. Thinking I might not bother?

Just been brought home by the AA--- head gasket gone on my series2 V8 Disco --LPG Anybody know a ballpark figure for what a garage would charge to fix ? Can't phone round today (Sunday) but I'm keen to get some idea whether I''ll be fixing it or Ebay for spares !!, Phil.:confused:

I have a series 2 v8 disco and need to change the plug leads which seem to disappear behind the back of the engine and the bulkhead. I've never worked on this engine before so I've no idea how to get to the 'Dizzy' end of the leads, can anyone help and is it a pig of a job ? Thanks, Phil.

Good advice Perchshaw, I'll do that. Just worried about the cost in going to a main dealer.

The cruise control on my disco doesn't work,cant see any thing physical wrong,cable etc, so I assume it's an electronic problem. Does it have a dedicated ECU or is it part of the main ECU ? (expensive) Anyone know.:confused:

I have a v8 Disco LPG. I'm thinking of having some work done on the engine,new camshafts, timing chain etc. Question is do I need to put it into a garage that specialises in lpg or is there a risk involved if I get a local garage to do the work,anybody had experience of this situation...

How do I check the fluid level in my auto gearbox, haven't spotted a dipstick yet,series 2 V8.

When I start up my v8 disco' the battery light stays on untill I give it a good rev then it goes out at 3000 revs and stays out for the rest of the day including stop/start. This is taking longer to work each time I use it, I've checked all belts OK and can't spot any loose wires anywhere...

Recently bought 2001 v8 Disco which sounds a bit tappety if you know what I mean. Mainly at low revs and under exceleration. I think this is a hydrualic system which I know nowt about but can anyone suggest what may be needed to cure this,is it a sign of low oil pressure (new pump?) new parts...
