No start after injector change - Great!

Yes. It appeared the injectors were not seated correctly in their respective bores. After re installing, I tapped then with a rubber mallet and block of wood... low and behold, this worked!

    Td4 injector question.

Hmmm. Yes, mine will move more. I really dont know if it's worth spending the time freeing the collars on the other 2 injectors or just putting them in? - As it stands, they have obviously seized while in that position.

    Td4 injector question.

The red section in the attached image shows the collar section. You can just see the separate spacer/washer above it. On 2 of my injectors, this whole thing slides up/down approx 15mm.

    Td4 injector question.

I will post when I can... To describe it better...When you slide on the injector retaining clamp prior to installing, a little bi of up/down play is present. However, when the collar on the injector is slid up it holds the clamp firmly in position. Perhaps this collar is to ensure a good square...

No start after injector change - Great!

No, I didn't 'ignore' the replies on the last post, I just installed a set of 'known good' injectors to aid elimination. Spare the attempt at forum talking down to. I don't know who you are and I don't particularly care who who you are. A new post was instantiated as it was a separate problem.

No start after injector change - Great!

I'm going to test cam and crank sensors today for the sake of elimination. Can anyone tell me if the rev counter is supposed to move whilst cranking? - This would be an indication of a working crankshaft sensor? Thanks.

No start after injector change - Great!

Yes, I fitted a new set of copper washers. I might put the old injectors back in and see if it will start. I did an ignition on leak test with the replacement ones and no leaks from the top.

No start after injector change - Great!

Hi all.... Today I swapped out my injectors for my 2006 TD4 Freelander 1. The old injectors did poorly on the leak back test so in went a set from a known good running TD4. So, wont start! - Cranking, unburnt diesel coming out the exhaust while cranking. Double, treble checked all senor...
