What have you done to your Landie today.

Took delivery of landy bits. I'm liking this hi-lift jack! It's a beast! It'll come in hand with DIY at some point too, I'm sure! Fitted non-rotten drivers door. Now I don't have to bin-sack the drivers seat when I take it out!

What have you done to your Landie today.

Took the drivers door off to replace with a second-hand not-rotten one. The second hand one had one hinge already fitted to it. I got the old door off OK, but both the fitted hinge on the second-hand door, and the corresponding hinge on my landy are seized with rounded-off heads! The...

    Service details

Could someone point me towards where I would find out what I need to do for a service please? For a 109" S3 with a retro-fitted 3.5 V8(with SUs) and LPG. I've searched this forum and not found anything as yet. So far I know I need two air filters, an oil filter, fuel filter, points and...

What are the holws for in the cross sections of the chassis?

Just out of curiosity I wanted to find out what the large holes were for in each of the cross members of the chassis. My dad said that they were intended to take drive shafts to drive farm equipment. Is this true? Would you need a special gearbox? Ta.

Will Cheap Kenlowe-esk Fans do the job?

I have the 'stat, a coupler with a hole for fitting the stat into the hose, an over-ride switch, and even a funky little temperature guage. I was going to fit a fan I got hold of from a turbo Volvo, but offering it up, even with the shaft from the viscous fan hacked off I only have about 2 or...

Will Cheap Kenlowe-esk Fans do the job?

Nicely done. An oil cool has been fitted to mine on that side of the rad. Arguably I don't need it, but I'm reluctant to move or remove it unless I have to.

Will Cheap Kenlowe-esk Fans do the job?

Hi. My 109 SIII has a 3.5 V8 fitted, so I have very little space between the engine and the rad. As such I want to fit a slim electric fan to my 109. I could go for the undoubtedly good quality high performance Kenlowe fan which cost upwards of £100, or get a cheap copy for £22. I...

    V8 Identification

Sorry for the late reply, I some how became un-subscribed to this thread. Apparently it's from an SD1. The V8 Owners Forum - :: View topic - Another odd engine number!

    V8 Identification

Thanks for the replies! I found it, where everyone said it was! I was looking higher up, behind the shaft of the dipstick on the side of the block, actually in between the spark-plugs. For anyone else who can't follow instructions, the pic I found that showed me where it was is attached...

    V8 Identification

I have a 109 which has been retro fitted with a V8 (assuming a 3.5). I'm trying to find the engine ID so I can confirm exactly what spec it is. I've read that there should be a number stamped on the block in-between the two middle exhaust ports by the dipstick. It's very tight on that...

Could you tow a Rolling chassis as a trailer?

Bit strong aint it? What did I say to offend you?

Could you tow a Rolling chassis as a trailer?

Thats all very well if £46 is easily gotten. I've recently gone permanent from contracting. With my income dropping down to less than half, I hesitate when I have to put juice in the car! Hence the reason of exploring cheaper alternatives. That said, trailer hire would be the way I'd go. Once I...

What have you done to your Landie today.

After the landy has been sitting out the front for a couple of years, I've finally decided to start on it! SU's off tonight. Got one stripped down and cleaned up. Ceased solid it was! That'll be why the bugger only worked on LPG then! Got to put it back together, then start on t'other one...

Could you tow a Rolling chassis as a trailer?

This is a very real possability! Maybe use one of those 'A' frame dolly thingamabobs.

Could you tow a Rolling chassis as a trailer?

I was just wondering, if I were to buy a rolling chassis could I save myself hiring a trailer and just tow it as it was (locking the steering straight ahead) as you would a trailer? I guess you would have to knock up some kind of hitch to allow the tower to do the breaking without smacking into...

    Galvanising a chassis

Really?? Could you point me in the right direction like a link or something? The cheapest I've seen, for either a 110" or a 109" galvanised chassis is around £1500 inc. VAT!

    Galvanising a chassis

After phoning every electroplating company in the 50 mile radius and asking them if they did hot dip galvanising with no joy, I turned to trusty ol' yell.com! I've been quoted between £500 and £600 to galvanise a 110 chassis. Does this sound about right?

    Galvanising a chassis

Thanks for your help Redhand. I admit that I hadn't expected the answer to "Where do I take a chassis to be galvanised" to be "A galvanising company", although maybe I should have! I was wondering if there were any Landyzone favourites or something. A company which someone else had used and...
