yes think so. Chassis number shows it was original station wagon and all good just weird that it says 5 seats. Seems that LR made a lot of mistakes with their registration!

Looking at buying a 90 Xs csw and all seems good but it comes up as a 5 seater which seems strange. All matches as a 3 door station wagon and everything but not sure why it says 5 seats? Is this normal? Any reason for this?

I’m looking to complete a v8 90 project but not sure what to do about sourcing the car. I’ve seen a lot of detail about conversions and would be looking to install an old RRC V8. However, not sure on the general price expected for the full job? The alternative is I source an original 1985-96...

It isn’t a bad looking one at all. The hardest part is knowing what your looking for so I’d suggest finding a LR specialist in your area to take to look at it.

:) I understand the designa chassis wouldn’t be the original. The problem is the seller claims it is original chassis without VIN, but it has coils... I am confident enough engine is original though so really unsure what to think about it at the moment. I’ll dig deeper... :)

Thanks. This is where I’m not sure. How would you tell a leaf spring chassis? Another Pre defender LR I’m looking at has supposedly rebuilt axels with discs Instead of drums - does that sound dodgy?

So if the dumb iron is not replaced the number on the chassis should still be there? Could shot blasting and galvanising actually get rid of the stamp which is deeply stamped into the chassis?

if the VIN matches the plate with VIN (engine bay?) but the chassis doesn’t have one is it still alright?

There are photos but no receipt because it was the original chassis repaired and galvanised. Seems all very original but I don’t really know what I’m looking for. I’ll get an expert out.

Can you fit a series 3 (late 80s) with defender mud flaps as I am very confused seeing them around. sorry if this is a stupid question, as far as I’m aware they had different brackets but maybe not?
