ignition on.can hear it running nice and smooth for a second or two then it starts gurgling like its pulling in air from somewhere.

when i listen to the diesel lift pump through the filler cap i can hear a gurgling bubbling sound,it's about 1/4 full,is this normal?

110 thousand miles.theres a new fuel filter in it less then 500 miles ago.

Car seems to be well down in power(2.5 DSE),has been down since i bought it in april but haven't had time to do much with until today when i changed 3 intercooler hoses out for silicon ones,I cleaned out the intercooler,replaced the MAP sensor and also replaced the small hose between the the MAP...

was doing a bit of googling regarding remap and couldn't find anywhere near me doing it,wonder could i send ECU off to be remapped or even buy an ecu that is remapped all ready?

I'll pick up a used one and put it in the car is pretty gutless since i removed the tuning box what would ye recommend i replace it with?

there is tests,I think that the NCT ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Car_Test )would be be the test that is equivalent to the MOT and CVRT is for commercial vehicles

Im in ireland so no MOT,it's registered as commercial so CVRT would be the equivalent which isn't overly strict have no problem changing it if it's needed. was just wondering would it cause any damage to leave it disconnected

Is there any harm in just leaving the MAF disconnected?

small update. got a chance to spend and hour at the car this morning I removed the tuning box and reconnected the MAF and brought the car for a spin,it was down in power,I disconnected the MAF and car ran fine,not as good as with the tuning box but not dangerously slow. I had the nanocom...

i've nothing against bodges but if it cost less to re-time the pump i'm all for that;) how would i check the pump modulation?

once i get the lack of power sorted the hot start mod is next on the list.

what kind of signal does MAF give,is it volts or mA or something else entirely?should i check output with meter to see if its linear through out its range?
