Some brilliant repairs there Ian! Very neat work! Your chassis will have a new lease of life once finished. I went over all of mine with the wire brush for grinder and it did take it back to bare metal really well ready for paint, didn’t take too long, messy though! Rust dust everywhere. Great...

Good progress again Ian! Doors sound decent! I toyed with the idea of replacing mine but opted to keep originals for the time being. Every little helps right enough, I started off well then sort of went off track towards the end with all the small things adding up!

Making great progress, I stripped my loom out of chassis leg when I replaced the rear half chassis, I plan on putting some extra fuses in mine next week in the passenger underseat tool box then repacking with new cabling from there to the rear. Your chassis doesn’t look too bad at all! Doing well!

It’s easy enough to get carried away! I was the same, you have a look at a few then get worried you’ll miss out on a decent project, before you know it you’ve bought it! I see your in Scotland too, I was lucky I got mine in Perth only an hour away from me, saved me travelling too far!

    Disco 4 tailgate open button

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply, first I've been on the forum in a few days, I was actually trading the car in on Saturday and was trying to get it working before hand, in the end I didn't. A mechanic told me if you hear the clicking but it's not opening then it tends to be the actuator like you...

    1968 series 2a restoration

Yeah I got it from ebay also, I had visions of ot turning up and being like gloss paint in consistancy, but i would also highly recommend it same as Disco1bfg, I gave each coat a quick light rub down 24 hrs after, but It went on smooth enough that you wouldnt really have to. Highly recommend...

    1968 series 2a restoration

Hi Al, it was tractol enamel, I got the 5lt in marine blue and a litre of limestone for wheels and roof, not sure if it will be enough for sides also. It was brilliant paint, my first time using any enamel, I thinned it around 10% and it went on great. I used etc prime first then a high build...

    1968 series 2a restoration

Thanks for your quick reply, what confused me was that I tried one of the old unf males that I took off the original and it still didn't seem to fit the thread, that's what was confusing me. So do you recon the britpart flexis must be unf and that's why they are fitting the cylinders? Il take a...

    1968 series 2a restoration

I've fitted britpart overhaul brake cylinders all round and at the stage of connecting brake pipes up. I replaced them al back to the 4 way splitter at the brake pressure switch union. So I have imperial on that end at original spliter and I have changed all the other ends to Metric, however...
