3 amigos plus added elecrical fault!

Ok, fitted the alternator....charging around 14V, so all ok on that front. Been for a very long drive, even over rougher terrain, no amigos! Gonna see how it goes on the amigo front, if just showing up as before this charging issue, then i'll hang on for better weather before investigating...

Anything lower than -25 and mine needed 2x heats on the plugs, but would always start (never failed for 4 years), even @ -35degC! Our first Christmas there we woke up on boxing day to find the car had completely disappeared, under nearly 6ft of snow! I dug out access to the drivers door...

3 amigos plus added elecrical fault!

When the engine died and I pushed it to the side of the road, I pushed the hazard switch on but not enough juice to turn them on, by the time I got back a little more juice became available it did switch the hazards on. It was when I got back home from towing it, the hazards would not switch...

If I had a workshop or even a garden shed to use at the moment I would consider it, and due to needing the vehicle for everyday use a replacement may not be the cheapest solution, but it would be the easiest and the quickest for me at this time.

Charged the battery to full charge......started him up (no amigos!).........test for charge = Nothing, no charge at all! If the weather better tomorrow, I will get under and have a look at the alternator connections/wires etc... Looks like I might need a new alternator........before I even...

Thanks. Its on coils with self leveling hydraulic system. I was thinking it was a separate issue and maybe the alternator or earth. Tomorrow I was planning on charging bat and doing a charge check, also check terminals etc, and plug in my solus scanner (its abit old and not up to date, but might...

3 amigos plus added elecrical fault!

Hi all, Ive been reading the heaps of post relating to the 3 amigos on here. I have had the 3 amigo issue happening for the last 2 years, every now and then the lights would come on (along with the beeping), I would turn off the ignition and then they would be gone, for a while. Now...these 3...

Definitely.... it's been a beaut of a truck. I was going to purchase a discovery 3 when I got it, but decided that a discovery 2 would be more reliable and easier to maintain in the location we were at in the Arctic @ -35degC (less electrics)......and what I great decision, our Leonard has been...

Hi everyone. Ive had my discovery2 for about 5years. Bought it with 82K, been driving around Scandinavia and the Arctic circle for the last 4 years and put over 50K on him. The only repairs needed have been a power steering pump and a fuel pipe above the fuel tank. The only mods I fitted when I...
