P38A HOW TO: Radius Arm Bushes Without Press

Hi all, Thought I'd share how I recently did my radius arm bushes without a press or special tool (I have a press but this was way easier). Have heard lots of horror stories about how difficult these are to do so was amazed/relieved when I managed to do them very easily. It's made a huge...

Other Decisions, decisions. What RR to buy, not to buy?

I would go for a low mile 2012 or 2011 5.0 supercharged which should give you a good $10k contingency for a warranty or just funding anything that goes wrong yourself. My understanding is that the timing chain guides can go bad on these engines, so get one that has already been done. The...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

1300 miles from London to Islay and back in 5 days. Included around 50 miles of greenlaning through the Pennines and the Dales with snow drifts 3 feet deep! Got through the remnants of storm Ciara, then Dennis on the way back. Had an ABS sensor fail (not ideal in snow and ice), a rear air...

    P38A What would you do?

Ok good advice, thanks. I've totally refurbed EAS and a whole lot of other stuff so I'm good on that front (and can repair most of it at the side of the road). I've got AA coverage so I'll just do an oil change and go for it.

    P38A What would you do?

So I've posted here before about if I should touch the engine on my cheap and cheerful 2000 4.6 Autobiography that's currently on 192k miles. I've since planned a 1300 mile trip, including a lot of greenlaning, to Islay to sample some whiskey and just have a bit of an adventure with some mates...

    P38A Heater ducting part number

Thanks, found it on microcat, ordered the only one on ebay for £10. Whomever did the work before me didn't bother to put the ducting back, so the air was just blowing into the dash. I'm now wondering if the blend motors were even faulty but going to replace them anyway as it's all exposed.

    P38A Heater ducting part number

Hi all, I've got the whole dash out today to do blend motors, heater matrix o-rings and capless bulbs. Looks like a rabid animal has gone wild at all the fixings and ducting under the dash which would go some way to explaining why I'm not getting any air out of the vents. The RH heater duct...

    P38A 4.6 Engine Refresh

These are weeping oil. Might just change these if the compression test is good.

    P38A 4.6 Engine Refresh

It came with about 6 years of history (totalling about £18K of work, yikes). Nothing mentioning a head gasket unfortunately.

    P38A 4.6 Engine Refresh

I'll do a compression test first and see what's what. Thanks!

    P38A 4.6 Engine Refresh

Hmmm, no it doesn't seem to be losing coolant which I guess would be contrary to a blown HG. I do often drive it for very short periods just to move it around or re-park it (London painful parking). Occasionally it gets longer drives to Salisbury plain or a pay and play. Maybe worth just...

    P38A 4.6 Engine Refresh

Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. I bought a P38 a few months back for £850 to use for a bit of fun and workshop workhorse. I absolutely love the car and have already done a ton of work on improving it. It's a british racing green autobiography with a 4.6 Thor engine. It now looks...
