Still no luck with a solution to the problem. Apparently the injectors have been sent away to be checked.... don't know why and to be honest why would they suddenly not work when vehicle ran fine before timing belt changed..... I feel like a large amount of **** is being taken !!

Doesn't appear to be mechanical issue and is being taken to an auto electrician tomorrow. When fault is found will post solution as it may help others with similar problem....

Was unable to try that today but was told in his opinion starter button was working. Out of curiosity what is the significance of lights staying on or quickly switching off. What does it prove/disprove and what is the cure if it shows an issue...Thanks for input.

Been to garage today for an update and actually spoke to the main man there. Altho' it still won't start they have done a considerable amount of checking including fitting the fuel rail and injectors and several other bits off another TD4 that was a runner. The fault code was no longer showing...

Will go to garage tomorrow and try to get more info and fault code that's showing, did ring them earlier to try and find out but they don't bother returning my calls which is rather annoying..

Was talking to someone i know who has a friend who had a similar problem with a Honda S2000. Turns out it was a faulty starter button. When it was pressed car started and when button released as engine fired it cut out. Has anyone come across this... is it feasible that it could be a faulty...

To add to my previous thread re my 2009 TD4. Timing belt changed,etc. Crank sensor changed as a means of eliminating the issue from fault. Vehicle starts up and immediately cuts out. Mechanic and auto electrician trace an apparent fault and state that the tank fuel pump not working but power is...

Key fob does lock/unlock doors. Not actually done it myself but mechanic says it does. Have tried both fobs just in case one has failed too. Have tried to suggest that something may have been damaged during the job but the chap didn't seem too happy with that..!! Crank sensor been replaced just...

Fuel filter not been touched, was changed 12 mths ago and shouldn't be an issue. All that has been done this time is the timing belt/water pump. I had considered it could be fuel pressure/ fuel pressure sensor but as i mentioned in my post that i drove vehicle to garage, the mechanic drove it...

Hi All, i have a problem with my 2009 TD4 Freelander. I've owned and run the vehicle for 2 years and 10,000 miles without real issue. However just taken it to garage to have timing belt, etc done. Problem is it now won't run. Put key in , press starter and it fires up but immediately dies again...
