    2011 Sport HSE

Took my sport for its first drive after an engine rebuild (was bought broken). As soon as I put my foot down and the second turbo tries to kick in, I'm getting a restricted performance message on the dash limiting me to 3k RPM. Plugging the code reader in says: P22D3 turbocharger inlet valve...

Discovery 4 EAS in 'Extended Mode'

2010 Discovery 4 is having an issue when trying to lower the suspension from any height, I get a message on the dash saying suspension is in 'Extended Mode' and immediately raises again. The message also says something along the lines of 'if clear of obstacle, confirm ride height', if i press...

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

Before fitting the new camshaft position sensor and after hours of looking at pictures taken during the rebuild, I noticed something that explained it all.. when setting the timing, I had the crankshaft locking tool in a hole on the flexplate for the torque converter, not the timing hole...

    2010 Discovery 4 Timing

Nothing yet.. Fingers crossed I'll get the new cam position sensor in tomorrow and know a little more.. It's either going to be a matter of timing or the dodgy sensor.

    2010 Discovery 4 Timing

During the total rebuild of my 3.0 TDV6, including replacing the crankshaft, I cannot guarantee that the starter ring/fly wheel, whatever you want to call it, was placed back in the correct position. This makes no difference to general operation of the vehicle, however it does cause issues when...

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

After many cut knuckles and time spent testing wires leading to no satisfactory conclusion, I managed to borrow a ridiculously expensive code reader which gave me a little more detail into the code. "P0341-3A Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 or single sensor) -...

You're a saint. Thank you for looking for me. Could you tell me where you're getting these exploded drawings from please? Never mind.. I found the website. Good stuff.

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

The one and only cam sensor I found while stripping and rebuilding has been on the passenger side head at the front, not the cam cover. It goes through the front of the head, just behind the EGR valve and pokes into the timing cover, coming out just behind the cam pully wheel.

I'm not, I'm cranking then spraying. Could you describe as best you can where the other sensor is please?

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

That's the one, the crank I received was 100% new no doubt about it. 100% Perfect. If you're trusting (it's what I'll do when I need another), he will do a deal outside of eBay for £1250.

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

Crank was from a good bloke on eBay, it was £1500 but worth every penny to avoid the Chinese crap on there.. bought a new oil pump from him too. Yes the fuel pump was timed correctly using the marks on the belt and the pullys however from my research it would seem not to make a massive...

Scan tool is the Snap-on Ethos tech. Yes, kept the original block and replaced with a genuine brand new JLR crank.

    Rebuilt Disco 4 Engine Issues

Attempting to start my rebuilt Discovery 4 2010 3.0 for the first time. Car cranks and cranks but no hint of a fire. According to my scanner, P0341 = "Camshaft Position Sensor A - Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Or Single Sensor)" Is there more than 1 camshaft position sensor? Car ran before...
