Question about historic MOT & VED exemption

Agree- its MOT'd till Feb 2023 - local garage has just put the MOTs up to £40 - but still worth it, IMO

Question about historic MOT & VED exemption

Hi Nodge Yes indeed. Unfortunately the I don't know when the change took place and have no evidence, but I'm sure it was within the last 30 years. Despite obviously being a diesel, the V5c was never updated and it passed many MOTs as a diesel (Its not checked as part of the MOT test). I have...

Question about historic MOT & VED exemption

From the Gov website Eligibility: "You do not need to get an MOT if the vehicle was first registered more than 40 years ago and no ‘substantial changes’ have been made to the vehicle in the last 30 years." "A vehicle alteration is a ‘substantial change’ if the technical characteristics of the...

Series 3 heater hose connection to back of the engine

Series 3 heater hose connection to back of the engine

yes I did but it didnt help much - Unfortunately it appears that the m16x1 threaded hole in the cylinder head is already too big to be tapped out to 3/8" BSP, so I'm going to have to take it on the chin and buy a ERC9543 adapter. Shame LR chose M16x1 instead of M16x1.5 - a much more common...

Series 3 heater hose connection to back of the engine

Many thanks. I didnt realise later heads changed to "american" metric m16x1 (not M16x1.5) The adapter ERC9453 is about £50 !! (probably why it the heater was never connected ), it is x10 the price of the imperial - typical. Would it be possible or sensible to use a 3/8BSP tap in the metric...

Series 3 heater hose connection to back of the engine

Oddly the heater control valve is fitted at the front of the engine but the hose is blanked before the connection with the long pipe that goes to the back. The connector I bought is part number 624091 . Is that correct ?

Series 3 heater hose connection to back of the engine

My S3 project was originally a petrol and had a diesel 10J installed long before I bought it. Heater was never re-connected AFAIK, so I thought It would reconnect the heater. The connection point at the back of the engine had been blanked off. I bought a new hose connector but it doesn't...
