    Axle Stands

Has anyone here got, or knows where to find plans for building your own axle stands? I need them to be safe as it's me under the car. I've had a look in the interweb and they are mainly US based building huge one's that are way too big, and that have used as much steel as a Clyde built ferry.

    Replacement exhaust

on arriving home yesterday from a SLROC trial event, I discovered that the “new” noise was a sheared centre section of the exhaust. I see there are straight through replacement available with silencer delete (I’m not replacing the whole system). Has anyone who has fitted one advise on the...

    Freezing Diesel inline filter

Went to use the Defender this morning and as usual it started first time, but very lump. A quick check under the bonnet and the inline fuel filter I have added just before the lift pump is solid with wax. I fitted the filter as a precaution following the rebuild, and it has proved to be a good...

Hi, does anyone have a clear drawing of the instrument binnacle warning lights? mine are so worn that you cannot see the “icon” just a light. I have seen the drawings in user manuals but I am looking for one where I can create an overlay from.

    Warning light screen

My warning light screen in the the instrument binnacle is so worn you cannot determine what the lamp refers to. Does anyone in the UK provide a replacement screen / overlay rather than an expensive replacement of the complete assembly?

    Handbrake power

I have a 200TDi and finishing the rebuild. There was no wire from the handbrake switch when it was dismantled for the rebuild. 90 headliner

Question to the collective wise ones. I want to add a headliner to the rear of my 90 van and want to know if the rear section of a 110 would fit? From what I can see this rear section doesn’t have the alpine windows which is a bonus as I don’t want to add alpine windows. The reason is that I...

    Starting after all this time…..

Hi, I am at the stage where I will be starting my 200tdi engine after 3 years doing a restoration. The only work done to the engine since removing it has been a replacement timing belt and new oil and filters, the engine has not run since then. I intend to drain this oil and replace with new...

    Alpine windows

I’m considering adding Alpine windows to my 200tdi van as the roof is off as I work through a restoration, this might be a good opportunity to do the work at a useful work height. SP Panels are selling a kit that looks good and well priced. I know I’m adding more opportunities for water leaks...

    This little brown wire

Refitting the wiring loom I now have this brown wire which the label and terminal has disappeared, it comes out of the wiring loom behind the engine and I assume will terminate on the starter solenoid. What is puzzling me is the point it exits the loom, if it is terminated at the starter why...

Tow bar question - Marsland chassis

Hi all, rebuilding my D90 on a new Marsland Chassis I thought it would be a straightforward swap for the Dixon Bate tow bar that came off the original chassis, how wrong I appear to be. Is it safe to bolt the tow bar to the lower captive nuts in the rear crossmember and the angle below?

    Any idea?

I’m restoring my Def 90 200tdi and I have replaced the chassis wiring loom with a new one from AutoSparks. Nothing wrong with the loom, my query is what is this wire for? It is separate / branches from the loom as it exits the chassis in the engine bay. I have the old loom but has been so...

    Prop shafts seized

My prop shafts no longer slide, what is the best way to release them or am I wasting time trying to free them up? UJ's are new but they have been sitting in the garage off the vehicle waiting on restoration starting. Cheers Bill

Vent handles - not knobs wanted

Hi, I’m looking for the bulkhead vent handles, not the knobs but ones with “”vent” written on them. My parts list shows the number for the knob / ball type which was on the later models, mine is a 200tdi. Does anyone have a pair for sale or know who stocks them? Tried Paddock but nothing...

    Replacement Chassis

Currently rebuilding my D90 200tdi and a replacement/ new chassis is needed. I’ve looked at Richards, Shielder and Marsland and after seeing two at Peterborough and speaking with a few people I decided on Marsland. This morning I see online, from a supplier I have used successfully before, a...
