Good point. Was going to cut tube to use as spacers in between the plates to stop that. Just hope I dont melt my wiring harness.

Just spent the day cleaning and checking my chassis and found 2 holes just in front of the rear shock top mounts. Do I remove the mounts, cut out the rot, plate over then re drill holes for shock mounts? What gauge of metal is best? Cant see any repair panels for this bit so I guess its CAD...

I have an 87 110 v8 and I'm looking at doing a partial restoration/ build / throwing money down the defender hole. My brakes are pants, my stromberg carbs are worn, no power steering, I think most seals are leaking except for the engine, Salisbury rear axle etc Where to start?
