May I introduce RollsRoyce, the new family 1982 RRC

Here’s another one from today - started on replacing the axle/transmission breather pipes. Original front one wasn’t even at the height of the wheels! I think it may have been cut when the inner wing was repaired at some point in the past. Also note new adjustable Panhard rod.

May I introduce RollsRoyce, the new family 1982 RRC

Incidentally hef, I think your RRC has the same/similar running gear to my Disco.

May I introduce RollsRoyce, the new family 1982 RRC

Here is one taken recently. The notation refers to the removal of the original front bumper but you can see the renovation I’ve been doing to the suspension and steering gear too.

May I introduce RollsRoyce, the new family 1982 RRC

Aye Up, Great renovation story, keep up the good work. I’ve practically been paralleling you since April with a Discovery 1 renovation. I lived in Germany for 6 years back in the 80s and whilst out there owned an RRC at one point. (77 model). There was a great off road following with loads...

D1/D2 (or whatever) headlamp washers recommendations

Aye Up, I’ve recently changed the bumper on my D1 to a winch type. The old headlamp washers were quite tall and vulnerable (one had already been repaired with BMT!) I had already been thinking of replacing them with a lower profile one i.e. D2 version. Has anyone done this? If so - Is...

    Spark, fuel, no start

Aye Up, Is the non start issue occurring only when cold or at other times too? I’d been keen to hear when you solve it as we have one ‘in the fleet’ which has had a persistent/intermittent non start issue for at least 12 months. We’ve changed/serviced both the fuel and ignition side to no...

    Range Rover Camper at auction

Wow, I always wanted one of those to camperise it. I’m way down the road renovating a Discovery now so I’ll have to pass. Shame you can’t make use of it yourself. You’d get tons of advice on this site if you did. Good luck with the sale, hope you get a decent price and it goes to a good home.

    Water crossing

Ooh, I almost forgot - and make sure that any drain holes in your chassis are clear - especially on a D2. You might even want to consider serious internal rust treatment pre wading.

    Water crossing

If you don’t have to - don’t do it; If you must - full prep of vehicle - lift; axle breathers; snorkel; rad grill blind; door seals in good condition; etc etc. Electrics prepped i.e. ignition coil moved and enclosed etc etc. Winch protected. With a V8 You might even go as far as to source the...

    Death Wobble

Blimey. Your event and the subsequent conversation has brought to mind that thread on here about the young girl killed by the wheel coming off that Disco. I don’t think that I would have driven it yards further until I’d found the culprit.
