    Freelander 1 td4 crank pulley/ vibration damper?

How did you stop the pulley from turning to achieve the extra 90 on the nut. Mine just kept moving in the engine mounts and rising up and out. So it wouldn't catch.

    Td4 injector removal - resolved

I'm having similar problems with mine and have been leaning towards gasket failure. But have been told by local Landy garage that that isn't likely. Pulled no1 injector out and it was slimy. Water level hasn't really moved in the expansion tank so also at a loss. Am following this thread with...

TD4 fuel rail pressure sensor queries

I had a similar issue there seems to be two different sensors up on offer on ebay, one having a shorter thread length and small bore than the other. Took a bit of swearing and a chat with my local parts guy to figure it out. Sometimes best to go to your local parts guy with the sensor and show...

Freelander 1 Diesel mist spraying all over the Fuel Rail & Injectors

Every time I've had to do anything with the t connectors I've had to replace the small rubber "O" rings as they flatten out on the sides and you end up with "wet" hoses. Worth the small amount of money and peace of mind. Great post on annealing, must try that next time I do an injector clean up.

Freelander 1 Diesel mist spraying all over the Fuel Rail & Injectors

I found when I did my injectors that if they don't go down properly then they aren't in correctly. It took me a couple of goes to get it slide down right. I think the copper washer didn't slip down correctly the first time and may have been sitting crooked and jamming the top of the injector...

Freelander 1 Smoky Freelander No clue

Sensors were changed as a last resort. Did all the usual fuel filters etc before moving on to the next related probable cause. Was told by my local LR garage that it had to be sensors as I'd changed all the obvious and with the white smoke it was an air problem. Hence the removal and replacement...

Freelander 1 Smoky Freelander No clue

Although that wouldn't account for all the white smoke during tick over and holding at different revs?

Freelander 1 Diesel mist spraying all over the Fuel Rail & Injectors

Great post, excellent step by step, wish I had seen it a few months ago when I did mine. The brass run off connectors are a must as the plastic ones are prone to damage when working with the injectors or the air filter or...well you get the idea.

Freelander 1 Smoky Freelander No clue

Hi Guys I hope someone here can help. 2004 Freelander TD4, 200K on the clock. I passed the Irish equivalent of the MOT and then a week later began to smoke like hell. Did all the usual checks listened for the hiss from the hoses. Didn't fine one so replaced the lot. Changed every single sensor...

Freelander 1 Injector leak back prob

I had this problem and replaced with brass connectors. While dong so found a piece of the original O ring had been left in one of the injectors, which was the cause of the leak. Also replaced all the hose as wel. Problem solved for me at least. If it persists I would check that the injectors...

    Engine

So how do you fix the problem with by pass gases. Great post by the way. I have replaced just about everything and still have a lot of smoke coming out the back as well. Crankcase breather, airflow temp air, fuel rail sensor, MAF, air filter, injectors, even went to the bother of getting a...

Freelander 1 Loud Clunking noise sound from centre of car

Rear Diff supports. I had loud clunking from underneath couldn't trace it until I crawled under and started wriggling bits to see what was Loose. The rubber mount perishes inside the metal casing and ends up thumping against it. Three mounts and an hours work underneath solved clunking for me.
