    FL2 - M6 Toll - beware coming north!

Sunday, weather fine and off to Coventry to see a decent game of Rugby. Used M6 Toll to avoid any possible delays whilst they're closing jcn 10 of M6. Bit of a queue southbound, paid contactless by card, CBA for getting receipt. About 3 hours later heading north, left hand lane / kiosk no...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Rear tailgate switch........is it me?

No issues with fuel flap whatsoever, on first 2 fails it was door refusing to open on back door switch, but ok from remote,. and this time fail to latch, then not open, then not latch again! All three times resolved with microswitch and loom replacement. Nodge68, think you have it spot on, think...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Rear tailgate switch........is it me?

Thanks Nodge68, just I fail to see how it's the latch when every time changing the micro-switch and loom it works absolutely fine! Yesterday, suffering both symptoms, door not latching on close, and when it did eventually latch took repeated attempts to open yet, yet as always release button on...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Rear tailgate switch........is it me?

Not been here in ages but just had to post up issues with rear tailgate switch on FL2 (2010 vintage). So far, in 13000 miles my FL2 has been a beauty. Only major expenses has been a cam belt and water pump change with Haldex service, Landranger Services of Shrewsbury, great job! BUT these...

    Haldex service

Hi and thanks for reply. 2010 is the year so looking at Bell's site it must be a Haldex 4. Might just buy from Bell as not too far away, and thanks for confirming that DIY is an option, really dont know what the dealer actually did, just stated new pump fitted, suppose that should involve new...

    Haldex service

Following request for cam belt change posted just, thinking about the Haldex unit also. Garage purchased from told me that Haldex pump had been changed, but looking at standard of work done (or not as the case may be) i really doubt service had been carried out. How much should I expect to pay...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Cam belt and water pump change

Can anyone please let me know how much I should be paying for 2010 TD4 cam belt / water pump / pulley tensioner change? Quotes have been £500 - £650 so far, with warnings over which pump to have fitted! As it's coming up to 10 years better get it done, 80K on clock, thoughts please. Any spanner...

    FL2 XS TD4.e economy mode?

Well, not having to go there! Both inner wing and bell housing have earth straps, so can't better what I already have! Looks like bullet biting time and just get a new battery.

    FL2 XS TD4.e economy mode?

Arctic2, thanks for that and comprehensive pics, appreciate that few ohms can make a difference. I take it the new earth cable was a breaker specail? Is that a standard +ve starter motor cable?

    FL2 XS TD4.e economy mode?

So, the Rav4 turned out not to be as good as I'd hoped, still used the FL1 more, which was more economical! Did a silly thing, test drove a FL2, heck was I won over! So second one seen, offered fair P/X on the Toyota, so FL2 has been mine now for a few months, well made up! Comfy, handles OK...

FL2 verified good, FL1 to go

Ok, after2 months of ownership the FL2 bought in february appears to bee good enough that I don't need the reserve FL1 on the drive. Unable to use for sale forum as not meeting the minimum posts, but if anyone out there is after a TD4, '53 reg, sweet as a nut, please PM me.

What have I done! Now the owner of a 2010 FL2! Might be a FL1 on the market soon.

    Intercooler pipe required Pembrokeshire!

Jobs done! Had option of independent garage stating "about £20 for an unbranded pipe" or local LR dealer, Greens In Haverfordwest. Went for genuine option, really decent LR place, not full of suits and attitude when you turn up in a '53 reg Freelander! Fitted and no more plumes of diesel smoke...

    Intercooler pipe required Pembrokeshire!

Evening all, few days off in the caravan at At. David's, issue is that on way down, intercootler hose decided to self destruct! 2003 TD4, pipe is the shorter 90 degree one, not the longer one from the radiator, might there be one in someone's garage available or am I visiting main agents in...

    Thermostat Mod

OMG! the heater does work! First time ever the water temp needle has been above "8", constantly at "9" within 10 mins and from then after! Best £7 ever spent! Will be interesting to see if MPG goes up now at designed running temp!
