Firm, but fair. Now it makes sense.

Anybody Managed to Join the Angry Pumas Facebook Group Recently?

Hi Folks, I've been trying to join the Angry Pumas Facebook group since the Peterborough show last year. I've had three attempts, and nothing so far. I talked to a really helpful guy called Dane I think. He suggested joining the group as it specifically focused on the Puma. Right...

Defender 130 Quadtech - Quick and Dirty Camper Conversion

Hi Folks, I bought a Defender 130 with a Quadtech body last year. It had already been converted into a camper of sorts. It wasn't that space efficient for two of us and a rabbit (yes, a rabbit). So it was gutted and reconverted. Here is a short vid from the rabbits (travels_with_rodney)...

Scotland / wild camp / camping sites?

The north west part of Scotland is stunning. We've just come back from a 1300 mile trip up the east coast then over to the west coast via Ullapool in our 130 Defender. We slept in the back as it has a workshop body. Don't forget the Bealach na Ba to Applecross. Probably one of my favorite...

    Defender Front Wing Top Replacement

Hi, I've been looking st second hand wings. They are generally expensive and if not, dented. I'll pull the wing off again and have a good look at the bolts and welds. It will be an interesting weekend project.

    Defender Front Wing Top Replacement

@dag019 Thanks for the reply. It looked simple enough when I took the wing off. I was just a bit surprised to find bolts and spot welds. I thought that it would all be bolted / screwed. Looks like a just need to order a pair or Britpart wing tops and get on with it.

    Defender Front Wing Top Replacement

Morning All, I want to remove the badly fitted tread plate from my defender. The wing tops are a bit of a mess underneath. I've removed one wing and have noticed that the wing top panel is bolted and spot welded to the headlight panel. It is a case of ordering a pair of wing tops from...

    Puma Heater Only Blows Hot

Morning Folks, I managed to find the issue. The cable that controlled the valve was not pushing it fully closed. It's been an issue for some time as somebody has sprayed the thing with grease (and the firewall and surrounding pipework etc). I pulled it closed with a finger, and it was lovely...

Which Model of Landy Van are these Side Panels From?

Evening folks. I bought a pair of 110 side van panels for my camper build. I want to chop off the first 250mm so that the cab butts up to the camper box. These side panels look a bit different to me. They have a piece behind the door pillar. Is this an additional bit for some special...

    A pic of my 130

@doriz I bought it after it came off the bay. To be fair, the guy was cool. We were selling our camper via the bay, and man, there were a lot of idiots contacting us. It was miserable in the end. I can understand his frustration. The guy we bought it from hand, painted it. It's not to...

    A pic of my 130

Yup, but I first saw the idea on another Quadtec body conversion. The guy is on Instagram (justanothervanlifeaccount). I'll laser cut a flange to go around the inside of the roof and side panels, so that the box can be bolted to the cab. These guys build a nice camper...

The 130 station wagons look great. That's what we would do if we were not building a camper.

The Eberspacher is expensive, but worth every penny. Yup, a walk through is a luxury. Park up, its raining, no need to get out. Also good for stealth camping, as you are not opening and closing doors. .

    A pic of my 130

Cheers. It's going to be great. We loved the T5 (which we built) but we want the vehicle to be more capable. The back will probably white, so yup, it will match the cab.

@Colthebrummie We've done lots of winters in north Scotland and Scandinavia. With an Eberspacher D2 and an insulated camper, its a piece of cake. It's also amazingly beautiful.....

@Hicap phill Hi Phill, nope, the body will be mounted to the chassis. We wanted a camper that was more capable than our VW T5, as we like to spend some of the winter in the north of Scotland and Scandinavia. This will let us explore more of each area, with less concern for getting stuck.

Right Hand Wing Top Plastic Cover - What Is It For?

@Colthebrummie I can weld ali, but thought that plugging holes might be tricky. Steel is easy in that respect. I was thinking about bonding an ali plate behind any hole and filling it. I might give it a try.

Right Hand Wing Top Plastic Cover - What Is It For?

I've just taken the chequer plate off the bonnet. Luckily the Puma bonnet is steel and welding up holes is easy enough with a brass spoon. I'll then repaint it. I'd weld the holes in the wings, but I'm not sure how easy it is to plug weld holes in ali.

@dag019 As you are local, you might see it rolling about.
