good evening all my 98 300 tdi gearbox has started to get very noisey. and when i dropped the oil at the weekend it looks like someone has tipped a tub of glitter in the oil :eek:. my questions are do you need any special tools to rebuild a r380 other than general pullers ? or are you better off...

oil leak sorted :) it was the seals on no 5 main bearing cap

removed the gearbox to find a new clutch/flywheel and rear main seal have recently been fitted :confused: so removed flywheel bellhousing and found that the rubber seals on number 5 main bearing cap leaking . fitted new seals and i am putting it back together at the moment . so fingers crossed...
