For Sale 4 18" 'Hurricane' wheels, 2 brand new tyres

Not in the best condition (see picture) but should scrub up okay. Brand new (like, 20 miles or so wear on them) Landsail tyres on 2 of them, the other 2 are fine but part worn. Tyres cost me £170 alone. £100 for the lot, collection only from South Manchester. pictures...

    P38A Smaller air filter?

I want to free up some space in the engine bay for things, has anyone replaced the air box with one of those 'performance' barrel filters? Any problems encountered? I'm not looking for increased performance, if it's as good as the stock air box but significantly smaller that's all I'm after.

    P38A 19" L322 tyre pressure?

I recently put 19" wheels from an L322 on my P38 (yes, I used spigot rings!). I think @wammers has the same setup. Since there's enough debate about tyre pressures on the standard tyre sizes, what's best as a starting point for these?

LPG specialist in / around Manchester

As per title really, the LPG kit on my 2001 (P38) RR needs looking at / servicing. Any advice for a good, reliable garage in or around Manchester who could take a look at it?

    P38A New clock!

The clock in my dashboard doesn't have a light in it, so I can't see the time when it's dark. This bugged me so much, I made a replacement clock (3d Printed, Arduino driven LCD) . Oh, and I stuck some USB ports in there as well (they kick out a total of 3Amps, so enough to charge a new fangled...

    P38A EAS compressor pressure

HI all, I'm running through this checklist from @wammers on checking the eas compressor and valve block. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/checking-eas-compressor-and-diaphragm-valve.172555/ I've got to the second bit, taken the outlet pipe off the compressor, start it running and put...

    P38A Interesting supercharger kit

Unfortunately I don't have £650 to spare, and can't take the risk of converting my transmission into a series of interestingly shaped pieces of scrap, but this caught my eye on ebay yesterday: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163357904357 Does anyone know anything about these things? Anyone seen...

    P38A Crankshaft position sensor

Hi All, I'm swapping out my crankshaft sensor later today, anyone got any tips / things to look out for? I've had a look on rave, and searched the forums and it seems like I'll find it on the opposite side of the bell housing from the starter motor under a heat shield. The main...

    P38A Interior retrimmed?

Hi all, Has anyone had the interior of their car retrimmed? (ie: seats, panels, steering wheel, carpets etc) If so, how much did it set you back? Mine is a little tatty looking, just 18 years worth of wear and tear I think, so weighing up whether it's worth getting it all replaced.

    P38A 2001 4.6L oil leak

Before I start, I know these engines are renowned for leaking oil, so I'm not panicking, just after some advice on whether it's an immediate issue or something I can sort over summer when it's easier to get time! So my engine has started leaking oil, it goes from around the full mark on the...

    P38A Heater core O-ring replacement

Hi all, to add on to my ABS pressure switch failing and my rear door latch failing I now suspect my O-rings are on their way out due to a slow coolant leak and a wet carpet on the drivers (right hand) side. However, I notice when I remove the right hand panel on my centre console someone has...

    P38A Rear o/s door won't open...

As title really. The lock mechanism on that door doesn't move when you lock / unlock the car so I'm guessing it's knackered. Couple of questions: Does anyone know if the door not opening is an MOT fail? Mine is due in January, just wondering if I need to prioritise fixing it. Any tips on...

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

As subject, I had a fault in my ABS (the accumulator had gone). I've fixed the fault, and the brakes work fine now, but the lights are still on (all 3 on the dash, the ABS, exclamation and the TC light). Is this one of those faults I need to plug in a faultmate / nanocom in to read and clear...

    P38A My first EAS Fun

Hi all. My EAS has been mostly fine for the 6 months or so I've had the car, but since the weather has turned colder I've noticed it's been going down overnight and then taking a while to sit back up in the morning. Today however I've had the dreaded '35mph slow' message and the car refuses to...

    P38A Water woes

Every time it rains I get water pouring into my passenger (Left hand) footwell via the gap in the trim where the ODB2 Socket is. I've had the pollen filter out on that side and it's dry at the front (ie: the end nearest the removable cap / cover) but wet through at the back (the end buried in...

    P38A Thor engine Spark plugs

Hi All, I used an NGK part finder online and it recommended the BPR5EIX for the thor engine on LPG, but then a different part finder recommended the BPR6EIX. What's the difference between those two? I ordered the 5s before I spotted the other part finder, will the work okay or should I...

    P38A Changing HT Leads

Howdo all, I'm looking at changing the plugs & leads on my 4.6 V8 for a set of magnecores. I've been advised that changing the leads is much easier if you take the inlet plenum off the top to give you more room to play with. However, that seems a lot of work. One mitigating factor is that I...

    P38A Boge or Terrafirms shocks?

I have a 2001 P38 with stock suspension. I drive almost exclusively on the road, not got the time or inclination to go traipsing about off road. I'm fairly happy with the ride, but it does tend to feel like it's about to tip over if you take a corner at any speed.... now I know there's going...

P38A Ignition leads for 2001 P38 on LPG

As title says really, what's recommended for HT leads for a 4.6 running on LPG? Are the magnecores worth the extra cash, or just go with the standard ones? Standard set is £27.99 from P38 Spares, the Magencore 8mm ones are £129.99. I don't have any specific problems with my ignition, other...

P38A tapping into BECM signals with an arduino

Hi All, I have a couple of projects I want to integrate into my 2001 P38, but doing so requires picking up some signals from the BECM. First off, I want to get access to the 'engine running' (C1279 pin 9) and lock / unlock (C1283 pin 8, 18) signals. I'll be using standard 3.3v GPIO on...
