    Windscreen seal replacement

Hi All, Any tips for replacing the front window seal on a 1994 Def pickup as the original is very leaky. I have the seal now but I assume you have to drop the headlining and go from there . Nothing in the workshop manual . Has anyone done this before? and if so any tips please.. Cheers Guys.

    Tyre problems

Yes I tried removing tyre and cleaning corrosion with a wire brush and applying lots of bead sealant but to no avail. Just wasnt sure if these rims / tyres are compatible with tubes as this would be the cheaper option.

    Tyre problems

Hi 2001 Discovery 2 TD5 fitted with original 16" Polar ( RRC000040MNH ) alloy rims which I believe are becoming porous. I changed out the old set of remoulds last October for a set of 235-70-16 Grabber AT2s and still notice pressure loss over a period of a week some of the tyres can go from 38...

    ABS Amigo

Has anyone tried or heard any reports about the " ABS Amigo " from RSW Solutions ( www.rswsolutions.com ) being used on a Disco 2 . All the threads I can find are for using on a P-38. Would be a handy tool to have but before I purchase ( £125 ) I would like to know of some real world trials and...

    discovery td5 M and S light flashing?

Well well turns out it wasnt the battery , but the XYZ switch. Plugged in at local indie. Faults showed XYZ or loom problem so they said they would change out switch and only charge me if it was the problem. They did it there and then and I have had no faults since but we will see this morning...

What tyres are best in snow.

Almost forgot earlier today filling the chariot up a punter came up and said what were the tyres on my Disco, so I politely explained and he replied that his X5 was unable to move off his drive and he needed better tyres, turns out he lives on the same road as me and a damn lot nearer to town...

What tyres are best in snow.

Agree with CharlesY Grabber AT2 just fitted 6 weeks ago and have been brilliant , really have to provoke it to get any slippage and I have been trying . Alot of drifting in Northern Ireland and tractors only passing some local roads but beaten a few Def90s up the hills so far, big improvement as...

    Non starter TD5

Thanks Fellas, Had a look today and some oil around area esp on wire ( I think it is to the solenoid). Cleaned up and sandpapered spade. Disco has been fine all day now. But sounds as though I need to flash the cash for a new starter / solenoid. Is there anything to look out for when changing it...

How hard is it to change a sump gasket??

Yep as Andy says the lying under the car is a pain also >I sheared off one of the bolts on the cross member when I was removing it so give it a good soaking with WD for a week or so before trying it. As I said earlier it is awkward to get the sump out and especially back in as you are trying...

How hard is it to change a sump gasket??

Yep its easy. I just followed the discovery 2 pictures which explained it very well. Key is having everything you need. Hardest bit was wiggling the sump out to clean it and fit gasket. I also replaced the oil pump bolt when I was at it as you cant take any chances with that failing. I took my...

Bumper feels rough and yet smooth

Was thinking on a fine sandpaper to get it a bit smoother then something like Plastikote spray paint as I have used it before and got reasonable results but not on external plastic. Worth a try when weather improves.

Bumper feels rough and yet smooth

Which landy you got? My 2001 TD5 looking pretty shabby on the plastic wheel arch surrounds but havent got round to doing anything about it yet. Looks almost like whoever had it before me contacted a polishing buff on it all round the edges and removed the top coating layer. Was considering...

    air bags TD5 suspension

If you have the correct tools this is no problem as you have to be prepared for most eventualities. I carry a spare bag and hydraulic jack and toolbox anyway but best to check what you need if you dont have AA cover it can save you alot of money and it is easy to change. Good luck
