Wipac Halo Led Headlights - worth the price?

Dear forum members, I am searching for high quality led halo led lights that will be of a different quality compared to the cheap Chinese copies. I am now running the latter and though they look nice, they have a very poor quality of lighting. Also the halo is too transparent and leaves an...

Tips for storing a D90 over the winter in a heated underground parking

Thanks, guys for the comments! Thanks, Flat! That's what my friend told me who owns 2 Defenders and parks them in a heated underground parking building. Thank You for the compliment, Kermit!! I think so too. It took me some time to get it together, but the changes that I made seem to me to be...

Tips for storing a D90 over the winter in a heated underground parking

Dear forum members, Each time I post here, I wanna first thank all the good people who have helped me so much with many many technical questions. Really appreciate it!!! For the past year I've been investing heavily into my TD5 D90 and am very pleased with the results (knock on wood). I did a...

What wax oil for chassis care

I was considering different solutions for some time and in the end turned to a professional shop. Very pleased with the result. If You have doubts that they won't do the inside of the chassis, ask them to put in the liquid into the ladder frame first, show it to You and then do the outside. I'm...

Right part for the footwell pedal area trim

Good people on the forum, can anyone help me with this tricky piece of trim. I need LHD driver side pedal area trim. The footwell area trim on my truck is exactly like this: where it goes from the door-side panel over and under the pedals and then goes rather far over the gear box to the...

What lift / Tyre size is this?

Is it polite to ask what was the cause of that little crash?:)

Did 285/75 tires cause the breakage of this 3,5t 130?

Guys, there is this youtube video where a couple took their heavy 130 to Kyrgyzstan and after hitting a large pothole at 30 kmh (the incident is shown at 4:30 - some 30 seconds), had the truck's swivel housing broken in two. From the beginning they were naming a major cause being the large...

    Chassis replacement cost?

Flossie, I feel You! I've spent over 10k euros (7-8k on parts) on my 2006 D90 and haven't actually done any major jobs. Just fuel pump and lines, engine seals (not the head gasket), new suspension, new brakes, lots of small non-functioning bits in the interior, half shafts, flanges, bearings etc...

    Your thoughts on Halfshaft/Drive members

A little scary to comment after such giants as mr JamesMartin. Do You, guys, think this logic applies: when the half shaft and flanges are two separate parts, there is play between them and that saves the diff from more wear, as the energy is sent down the half shaft, which then hits the flange...

What lift / Tyre size is this?

Just guessing, but surely over 285/75.. maybe 305/70 on 4 inch lift? The lift must be significantly over 2 inches, because the clearance between tire and arches is pretty huge. The arches are clearly trimmed, but still the space looks pretty big. mho:)

Can't get the brakes pass MOT

Thanks, Scooby, but do You really think that while changing the calipers and pads increased the efficiency from 23% to mere 29%, but the breaking in of the pads will increase the efficiency to over 50%? I somehow doubt it:|

Can't get the brakes pass MOT

Guys, I'm back with some good and bad news:D In short, I had a problem with my rear brakes being very weak from the moment I've bought the truck 5 years ago, but the front was so good that I passed the MOT 4 years in a row. Then I replaced all four discs and pads and the brakes got worse. My...

Can't get the brakes pass MOT

Guys, thank YOU!! Really appreciate the help and all the suggestions. I gave up and took the car to a certified LR service shop, who by some strange incidence is located in building next door to the MOT centre where I tried to pass a week ago. They checked the brakes and took it to the same MOT...

Can't get the brakes pass MOT

Thank You, tottot! We've done that before and everything works according to these tests. My question rather is what could be the logical conclusions from what I've described using the method of exclusion: 1) front brakes have 63% efficiency, rear 23%. The distribution of strength is relatively...

Can't get the brakes pass MOT

Dear forum members! I was unable to pass the MOT because of insufficient brake strength. The compound efficiency was 35%, it needs to be over 50% to pass. The difference between the front and rear axle brake strength is about 3 times. The front brakes are just over the limit of acceptable, but...

    Stainless steel bolt kit

Hi, Bert! I bought the same kit for my 90 and had them installed. They can be a little tricky to track, but should be relatively straight forward. I didn't use the paste that came with it. I bought some Tef-Gel and we used that. I like the look of the bolts a lot, although they were surprisingly...
