Flossie, I feel You! I've spent over 10k euros (7-8k on parts) on my 2006 D90 and haven't actually done any major jobs. Just fuel pump and lines, engine seals (not the head gasket), new suspension, new brakes, lots of small non-functioning bits in the interior, half shafts, flanges, bearings etc...

A little scary to comment after such giants as mr JamesMartin. Do You, guys, think this logic applies: when the half shaft and flanges are two separate parts, there is play between them and that saves the diff from more wear, as the energy is sent down the half shaft, which then hits the flange...

Just guessing, but surely over 285/75.. maybe 305/70 on 4 inch lift? The lift must be significantly over 2 inches, because the clearance between tire and arches is pretty huge. The arches are clearly trimmed, but still the space looks pretty big. mho:)
