Hi pal just a quick one i have rebuilt a diff for my td5 do you know the torque settings for the 4 19mm bolts that hold it in

Td5 auto not engaging reverse unless transfer changed from high to low after transmission fluid changed?

If i am in high it wont select reverse just revs as in nuetral then when moved into low it will engage reverse then you can move it back to high and it will reverse but m s lights flash so unless i move transfer then it wont reverse i have only changed gearbox oil and front diff since rhis...

Put a second hand rear diff in my front and now it is only selecting reverse when it gets moved to low and sometimes in high when it feels like is the diff the problem?

Yes lights flashing and locked in 3rd gear

10 mins to get off and same to put back on

Hi pal im having same problem but mine wont go into reverse sometimes i have to mess with tbox to get it to select reverse

Yes i had cable off the end all is well now but only tested on garden gunna test drive tomorrow will let you know thanks for your time much apreciated

Yes i took a pic of location to put it back then two 10mm bolts and 13 mm bolt and off drill the top of the rivets out and your in mine was cleanish inside but bit of dirt cane out then zip tied back together

The cable going to the xyz switch?

Hi pal just cleaned my ecu and all wiring behind glovebox and also cleaned xyz switch connectors with brake cleaner now its fine but sometimes wont select reverse from park but does from every other gear also showing up 1st on the dash

Just an update i messed around with mine today cleaned xyz switch plug and ecu with brake cleaner and also gearbox ecu behind glovebox now all is good hopefully stays that way

Could this have been nocked while changing a front diff?

It will after a few trys but then the m s lights starts flashing

Sorry 1st gear is working just doesnt show up on dash when selected every other gear shows up on dash when selected sorry am not the best at expaining things and this jeep has got my head shattered alls i done was change a diff and gear oil now this started before that it was perfect

All gears and drive working fine in high apart from reverse only works sometimes then puts box in limp mode same when in low but if in reverse soon as transfer changed from high to low it jumps straight into reverse

Did you get to the bottom of this i am having the same problems after fresh gear oil will only select reverse when in low and in high just revs as in neutrel

It will select 1st but just doesnt show it on the dash and the grindin is more like an air escaping sound when foot on accelerator
