Hi Gold rover, yes I did phone him and he said it wouldn’t stop the key from starting the engine on it’s own, it’s just a fail safe in case the key wouldn’t start the engine. Thanks

Thanks to you all for your help and support it is truly appreciated. Now I have to go on the hunt for an ignition switch if anyone knows who may have one or where I can get one I would be one happy Range Rover owner.

Hi and thanks. Yes it does start with the push-button. So the switch pack, any idea where to get / purchase the switch pack?

Another thought that crossed my mind. Could it be the gearbox inhibitor switch?

Just to clarify, the after market push-button was put in after the service. Now I put the key get ignition lights push the button and it starts but if I try to start the engine with the key that’s when I get the “morse code” sound. So it definitely is something to do with the ignition switch...
