Ok checked the adjustment control cable and it's good, next I started the vehicle and brought it up to normal running temp did not have a temp meter so it took a couple minutes then checked the oil level after making sure it was the right plug I was undoing, now i believe there was too much oil...

Mike it could be some teeth on your flywheel could be damaged and now is mucking up your new starter you or your garage can check just pull the starter and you should see an edge of your flywheel turn the engine by hand and check the teeth looking for any damage.

Repaired the in tank fuel pump on my 2001 TD4, scraped down and swapped out my pump with a 50 psi universal intank pump used the original housing it looks and works like original so far :D, time it took approx 2hrs and cost $30 but don't know how long it will last :)
