    battery

Great to hear old machine roaring back to life. Perfect fit in the battery holder and turns out it is a new battery. Never used as mate's pal changed his work van, and happy to clear it for half price. With temperature up here hovering around 4 degrees I even managed to get the flat Smiths...

    battery

Start of winter weather in Scotland and my battery giving up the ghost. Mate offered me an HB096 - 12v, 6400cca and 70Ah - for good price, but wondered if suitable for a series 3?

    Can you Identify the colour?

Looks like the matt grey that was used by RUC during the Northern Ireland "troubles"?

    brake test switch

Finished - back bits off for paint - but only thing not working is brake test switch on dash. Should there be relay behind dash for wires from under bonnet?

    hi everyone

Looks good stripped down, doesn't it? Unfortunately not very practical in rural Aberdeenshire where it seems to rain every other day! And where to get these relays?

Work in progress a month or two ago. Now I just need relays FV706711 and Lucas 6RA 33258A to get it roadworthy.

    Up in the Highlands

Fit Like? I'm just north of Aberdeen, and just introduced myself on the forum. Doric is the local dialect in Aberdeenshire, by the way. And "fit like?" means "how are you doing?" Nice to be welcomed to the fold - "it's better tae be clapped in than clapped oot."

    hi everyone

Came across forum yesterday after cancelling my MOT after my trusty old Lightweight went on the blink, or rather didn't ...... problem with indicators and lights. Looks great site for info as have had the '68 ex-Army one - 39 FG 42 - for some 20 years and trying to complete renovation of an '84...

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. Strange that there is such a huge difference in price for what seems to be the same item - from £30 up to over £80 - when you compare the ads online. Bought the old Landie after seeing it lying abandoned in a steading (barn) in deepest Aberdeenshire about...

Lightweight running well until day before MOT due, then electrics gone funny. No indicators and no horn when lights on only a crackling screech from bulkhead. Swapped over Hella blinker box and indicator stalks other Lightweight I'm restoring and all working fine, so guessing it must be relay...
