    ok thanks, it is getting hot but easily comfortable to put your hand on it. No smell of oil (well other than the standard land rover smell :)) or any other signs of excessive heat. I will pickup a temp gun this evening and measure off the top hose and maybe the thermostat housing?

    Rad oil pipes

    Thanks for the pics. Yours looks like the pipe is below the stop for the bonnet stay. I've tried loosening the nuts on the pipes and I have twisted them as much as they go (right up to the timing case) but it's still jammed against the prong on the bonnet stay.

    I had the rad and inter cooler out of my 300tdi defender last week. On putting it all back together I have an issue with the top oil pipe into the rad fouling on the bonnet stay mounting bracket.
