Hi, Given the 2nd hand ABS modulator we obtained did not display any fault codes at all when it was connected (it just wouldnt allow itself to be reassigned to the car itself) would this not validate that the original ABS modulator was the problem and not any other modules or any part of the car?

I will look them up. If I can find someone nearer to Lancashire with this tool I'll see if I can get access to it. There must be someone in the UK that re-programs ECU's and clears the manufaturers original non-volatile memory to allow a part to be re-used. Many thanks for the information.

Your quite right about the VIN being a one time write to the module and the tech cannot fit the 2nd hand unit to the car becuase of this as it wont accept my cars VIN/chassis number. There must be someone out there who can wipe the ABS module memory and we can start all over again and re-program...
