FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

Morning. You can get a new genuine silencer for around £25. Or you can get a kit with the flexi pipe that you need to fit it for around £60. I’ve heard it can be a pain to fit though and many people resort to taking the front bumper off to fit them o_O

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

That’s exactly how it is! And yes with the weather getting warmer it won’t even be any issue :) Well.. to be honest I’d be happy not to sell it, but I have just been told that my new company vehicle is being delivered in 2 weeks and I just won’t have a use for the freelander :( It’s just turned...

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

I’m not trying to fool anyone, to be honest this was the first td4 I bought and when I went to look at it, it was the first question I asked “what’s that noise” not helped by the seller saying “I dunno!” I went away and got some more info before knowing that it was completely normal. Then went...

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

I hadn’t realised so many other car makers used the Webasto FBH until just flicking through google. Seems most German manufactures use them, but seems almost all other makers used the silencer. The fact that there is a silencer available suggests that the noise is normal. But to anyone that...

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

Cool. I think for the sake of a few quid I might stick one on. Thanks for your help, I’m a bit reluctant to sell it as I can’t fault it and it’s always been a pleasure to drive, but the onset of a company vehicle means it really won’t get used :( Cheers.

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

No it only starts up when it’s cold out and the engine is cold, as it should. But when it does it makes the noise, it’s not an uncommon noise, just might sound odd to anyone that’s not familiar with “a car” making such a noise. Thanks for the link, they’re the ones I’ve been looking at. So is...

FBH fuel burning heater - silencer.

Hi all. I’m about to sell my 2006 Td4 Freelander sport. (86000 miles FSH) As many of us will know, the FBH can make quite a noise on start up (the old air blowing across a milk bottle sound) I didn’t want this noise to put off perspective buyers that might not be familiar. There seems to...

    Leaking fuel from near injectors!

Ah, that's sounds logical, and would make sense of the top of the injector appearing to be dry. I've ordered a new kit for the spill off, might as well get a set of seals and washers for the injectors too. Should cover all bases then. Thank you. Much appreciated.

    Leaking fuel from near injectors!

That's great, thanks. They're cheaper than genuine Land Rover plastic ones too! Will give that a shot. Thanks again!

    fuel round injectors

Old post I know, but if you're still around I love to know if you found out for sure what it was? Have the same leak. I have ordered a new set of leak off pipes with connectors and seals, although the tops of the injectors look dry.

    Leaking fuel from near injectors!

Cool, I'll have a look at those first. It's weird because everything 'top side' of the injectors seems dry, it just pools around the bottom of them. Will check those out, thank you. Much appreciated.

    Leaking fuel from near injectors!

Hi all. I wonder if anyone has experienced the same? My Td4 freelander has a fuel leak from around where the injectors are. I've checked all the spill off pipes and it doesn't seem to noticeably be coming from them. It runs perfectly, no misses or anything so thought it must have been on...

    drivers door tweeter cover trim.

Ok I know this is a really old thread. Why is it so hard to find a replacement trim for the drivers side (tweeter cover). Loads of near side ones on eBay but no one has the drivers side!

Dreaded TD4 fuel pump - Dorset

Brill pictures. Yep that's the one, the Bosch high pressure pump. Have been reading all the feeds and seems pretty straight forward. Most say is pretty much a case of inlet manifold off, engine mount off, remove pipes and electrical connectors, remove blanking plug (17mm Allen head) use...

Thank you. Will soon find my way around o_O

Dreaded TD4 fuel pump - Dorset

bought a freelander Td4 a couple of weeks ago, started it yesterday and fuel started leaking out. Having looked through various feeds, it's seems pretty common for the Bosch fuel pump to leak, I've ordered a seal kit but I'm a bit dubious about doing it myself. Is there anyone local to Wimborne...

    Reborn Landy owner.

Hi all. Have had many Landrovers in the past but got into (coughs) BMWs, the last being an X5. Anyway. Change of job and change of car, just bought a 2004 Freelander Td4. Glad to have found your forum, will be a most useful tool in looking after the freelander. I'm sure I have seen pictures of...
