Fixed it! First I tried to prise it out with a plastic shim, but that wasn't strong enough. So, with the ignition off and a very small flat-head screwdriver I managed to lever it out quite nicely. No damage done to the car or the lighter. I've swapped the lighter with the plastic stopper...

My Range Rover is a 2002 petrol 4.4l automatic. My cigarette lighter is stuck! It's the one next to the clock. It used to come out quite easily for me to plug my sat-nav in to, but now it won't budge. The more I pull the more it seems as if the whole assembly might yank from the housing...
