Fortunately I did not need to touch the wiper swich. Replacing the wiper motor cured the problem. Thanks for the help.

Solved intermittent wiper problem by fitting new motor, cheap solution as motor only £30 on eBay.

I suspect there is a fault with my wiper stalk switch and I would like to change it. Manuals say rermove the steering wheel for access. Is it necessary to rermove the wheel ? Any advice appreciated, thank you.

I am aiming to change the fuel filter on my 2004 td4 and while I am at it I might change the pump as well. I am surprised that pumps are on eBay for around £40. Has anyone any experience of these low price pumps? Thanks for any comments.

Two TD4's mot'd in last 3 months. Both passed with no advisories. In 8 years of testing no mention of covers or undershields.

Before you disconnect set up a feed from another 12v source, you wont loose any settings by doing this. I think you can buy gadgets with a power source that plug in to the cigar lighter socket if you dont want to rig something up.

Dear Nodge With your V6 filter mounting you haven't any choice!

Used one for about three years now on our two TD4's. Very successful as with the accessible filter you don't need to get under the car. Put plenty of rag around the filter casing to stop the oil getting to the alternator when you lift the filter out.

I frequently use a late 90's-2003 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 V8 engine. It was bought from new and has been one of the most reliable vehicles I have come across. Except for a power steering hose nothing has broke and I would use it full time if I could manage its low mpg. I so like it's robust...

Quite understandable. I wonder if you can alter the design for easier fitting. I have in mind cutting the old one off for removal and then fitting the new one without dismantling anything else. If this was possible it would encourage people to fit sooner rather than later.

Clearly as time goes by there will be a demand for cradles. IIRC it isn't easy to fit a replacement. I suggest a new type be made that is easy to fit. Such a cradle will sell like hot cakes!! The cradle on our 2005 TD4 is bad, our 2003 TD4 is very good. Either some were poorly painted initially...
