I am aiming to change the fuel filter on my 2004 td4 and while I am at it I might change the pump as well. I am surprised that pumps are on eBay for around £40. Has anyone any experience of these low price pumps?
Thanks for any comments.

Those who buy cheap pumps experience them frequently..... Given what a filthy job it is (assuming you have a later td4 with the pump in the wheel arch) I'd rather pay for a known brand and quality.

I don't know the fuel delivery requirements for the TD4 but I'd be tempted to try a pump of known reliability. Something like a Facet universal pump. ?

The cheap in wheel arch pumps generally don't last very long and you're back with the same problems you were trying to fix in a short space of time

The genuine LR pump (which is the same as used on the 4.4 TdV8 Range Rover) is not that expensive relatively and comes with a 2 year parts and labour warranty.

Don't forget to replace fuel filter while the pump and filter assembly is off the car
